Chapter 36: Chapter 35

Renly Baratheon hurried through the corridors of Highgarden, his heart pounding with a sense of urgency. His steps echoed against the stone walls as he led his men towards the lord's hall. The summons from Mace Tyrell had come suddenly, and Renly's nerves were frayed by the news of a stranger from Essos seeking an audience with the lord of Highgarden.

Try as he might to shake off the feeling of unease, Renly could not ignore the sense of foreboding that hung over him like a dark cloud. He knew he had to speak with Mace Tyrell, to understand the nature of this unexpected visitor from across the Narrow Sea.

Without hesitation, Renly pushed open the door to the lord's office, disregarding the knight who stood guard. His actions were uncharacteristic, driven by his concern and the need for answers. Inside, Mace Tyrell and Olenna Tyrell looked up in surprise, their expressions a mix of confusion and annoyance.

"What is the meaning of this, Renly?" Mace asked, his brows furrowing in confusion.

Olenna, ever sharp-tongued, muttered a curse under her breath, her disapproval evident in the narrowing of her eyes. "Foolish boy," she hissed, her words laced with disdain.

But Renly's attention was elsewhere, drawn to the figure seated before Mace Tyrell. The young man appeared to be in his early twenties, his appearance striking in its uniqueness. His skin was as pale as milk, contrasting sharply with his long white hair that cascaded down his shoulders. His eyes, a vivid shade of red, seemed to pierce through the dimness of the room.

But what truly caught Renly's eye was the birthmark that marred the young man's face. A red winestain birthmark, stretching from his throat to his right cheek, a mark of distinction amidst his otherworldly features.

As Renly approached, the young man rose from his seat, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Lord Renly Baratheon," he greeted, his voice smooth and melodious.

Renly returned the greeting, though his tone betrayed his nervousness. "And who might you be, stranger? What business do you have here in Highgarden?"

The young man's smile widened, his red eyes gleaming with amusement. "I am called Brynden," he replied cryptically, his words laced with a hint of mystery. "I come seeking an audience with Lord Tyrell, though it seems I have stumbled upon quite the gathering instead."

Renly eyed Brynden warily, his mind racing with unanswered questions. But before he could speak, Brynden turned his attention to Olenna. "Lady Olenna, I hope you will consider my grace's offer.".

Olenna's eyes narrowed at the young man's words, but she remained composed. "And what, may I ask, does your grace offer that we cannot achieve on our own?" she retorted, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Brynden's lips curved into a slight smile. "My lady, remember the words of your house – 'Growing Strong,'" he replied, and said. "But remember also who helped plant the seeds of your power.".

As Brynden Rivers walked away from the Lord's office, his parting words lingered in the air like a haunting melody. "Fire and Blood," he said with a smile, a cryptic message that left Renly Baratheon with a sense of foreboding.

Renly's gaze shifted to Olenna and Mace Tyrell, his expression wary as he awaited their response. Without turning to face him, Olenna spoke with a steely resolve in her voice. "We have outgrown our need for alliances, Renly. House Tyrell stands alone now."

Mace attempted to interject, his voice filled with desperation, but Olenna silenced him with a wave of her hand. Renly's anger simmered beneath the surface as he listened to their words, his trust in the Tyrells shaken by their sudden change in stance.

With a frustrated sigh, Renly turned on his heel and stormed out of the office. As he left, Loras Tyrell arrived, his eyes widening in surprise at the sight of Renly's departure.

Confusion clouded Loras's features as he glanced towards his grandmother for answers, but Olenna's stern expression offered no solace. Sensing that now was not the time for questions, Loras made a split-second decision and dashed after Renly, determined to uncover the truth behind his sudden departure.

-------------------------

While in the quiet halls of Dragonstone, Shireen Baratheon sat alone in her chambers, her thoughts a tangled web of sadness and confusion. Despite being cured of the dreaded greyscale, her mother's behavior had taken a turn for the worse, leaving Shireen feeling lost and alone.

At just ten years old, Shireen struggled to understand the coldness that had crept into her mother's eyes, replacing the warmth and love she had once known. She longed for the days when they would read together by the fire, her mother's laughter filling the room with joy.

But now, her mother's distant gaze haunted her, leaving Shireen feeling as though she had lost a piece of herself. She couldn't help but wonder what had changed, what had caused her mother to retreat into the shadows once more.

As she sat in the dim candlelight, lost in her thoughts, Shireen's attention was drawn to the sound of footsteps approaching. She tensed as she heard the soft voice of the Red Priestess, her presence sending a shiver down Shireen's spine.

She didn't know why she disliked the Red Priestess so much, only that there was something about her that made her skin crawl. Perhaps it was the way she spoke with such certainty, as though she held the answers to all of life's mysteries.

With a heavy heart, Shireen set aside the book she had read countless times before and made her way back to bed. As she drifted off to sleep, a sense of peace washed over her, and she found herself standing before Xerneas in a beautiful dream.

Who's That Pokemon?[LAPRAS]

I know Lapras is just an ordinary Pokémon, not up to the level of Xerneas, but it's okay. In this fiction, Pokémon will be one level higher than their actual strength, just like Xerneas being a god-level Pokémon when it is actually only a demigod-level Pokémon. Level variation is here.

Anyway, put in the comment box other Pokémon you are expecting to appear next. Give their relation to the Game of Thrones realm. There might even be a chance Xerneas might create Pokémon from ordinary animals since he is, after all, the Pokémon of life and a god. So, give your expectations in the chat.
