Chapter 8: Chapter 8

Aslan POV:

The year is 289 and I'm 8 years old now. I've been with the faceless men for the past two years and I've learnt all I can while under their tutelage.

The first two months had me cleaning bodies for them and I did so without complaint and it was also at this time that I learnt I had come far enough in the 'Mind Mantra' that it was now possible to split my mind in two. When I did so I found that it was possible for me to enter my inner world which turns out to be as big as Africa was in my past life. After experimenting and testing I found that it was possible to farm and build self-functioning building in my world and bring them out into reality if I so pleased. With this in mind I built three breweries, one for Whiskey, another for Vodka and the last one for Apple Cider (Alcohol). With the three breweries pumping out alcohol I then used the merchants who were basically slaves to distribute them through their respective merchant channels.

After my month of cleaning and washing bodies I was later introduced to the 'Game of Faces', really just a game of who was the better liar and in my opinion there were few better than myself. The Faceless Men were good and I learnt much, my lies and poker face improved by leaps. It was six months after my tutelage began when I was given my first assignment to observe and learn from the people of Braaavos while building a cover story for myself.

It was during the trips into the city where I began building my network of informants, I compelled a few here and there in different businesses and some street beggars to report to me once a month. It was a new take on compulsion where I commanded that they go about life normally and do what they do but on a specific day they would lose all free will and report to me before forgetting the encounter. I did this to a few hundred in Braavos before moving onto Westerosi merchants as well.

The Faceless Men trained me in they could, I even earned my first face after a year and from there I stayed to hone my skills and perfect my art. Looking back at my time in the House I can safely say that they provided me with an environment to grow and spread my influence as the merchants I had previously compelled were now officially working for me and spreading my product. I gave them the same compulsion as the rest where they had free will but had unwavering loyalty towards me, as well as the same 'code' where once a menthe they would report to me everything they thought of as important without holding anything back.

I was now standing inside the hall of faces and looking at the man that had trained and oversaw I did while providing council for the last two years. I would be lying if I said I wasn't sad about leaving but I had accomplished all that I had set out to do here in Braavos and it was time for me to leave.

I looked at him and I saw a faint smile on his lips as though he was expecting my next words. I sighed before speaking in a flat tone, "A boy has learnt all he can and is ready."

He looked at me without saying anything before handing me a satchel and giving a slight nod, "A boy has finally become no one."

With those words he turned around and left me standing in the hall being stared at with lifeless eyes that screamed of the injustice of being worn by whomever got their hands on them. I gave the hall a once over before walking out with a small smile on my lips.

I made my way to the estate I owned in the city and started organising everything for our departure to Meereen. I had already set up my information network here in Braavos that stretched to some parts of Westeros, I had also established myself as a wealthy and reliable merchant with my liquor and taking over seven prominent merchants who were compelled to join me handing over all their wealth and assets. I know had plenty of gold and I had an information network, now I needed an army and what faster way is there besides buying slaves.

I was standing at the bow of one of my many ships, accompanied my two other ships that ere sailing with us to Meereen. I was on my way to amass my army, I had read the reports of my many spies and informants and knew that my accomplishments as a merchant had impressed many back home in Westeros. Deciding to lay my foundations down early I left instruction before my departure that half the sex slaves I had bought were to be sent to Westeros and start working in brothels while others were instructed to enter the employ of noble houses as handmaidens or help. I also started o few of my own brothels.

We took two weeks to reach Meereen as we were in no hurry since I had already started this part of my plan slightly earlier than the others. I was already well established and many wanted to meet me as I had only been successful in all my merchant endeavours so far, I reeked of gold and profit which would attract all the wrong sort. The sort I was looking for.

Looking at the large pyramids reminded me of Egypt back in my past life and I wondered if these were built with magic or the thousands of slaves that were sold and bought monthly in these parts of Essos. Finished with my musings I ordered my men to make for the docks and start unloading our cargo.

Waiting for me at the docks was 'Black Rat' and twenty Unsullied standing at attention, 'Black Rat' was one of my more educated and literate slaves that I had bought and assigned to keep my affairs here in Meereen in order. He was skinny and underfed when we bought him but years spent in my service had seen him grow and expand, he was now a portly man with a full frame and chubby face. I had obviously given the man his freedom and instilled a deep loyalty that bordered on worship, to ensure that my influence grew in Slavers Bay.

I looked at the portly man and couldn't help but smile at the wealth he was showing off, "How goes our expansion in Slavers Bay."

He gave me the brightest of smiles, "My Lord, your interests have been well taken care of and we've grown steadily." He did a slight bow before directing me to a nearby carriage, "Myself and the others have reports ready for you to look over back at the estate."

I obliged and climbed into the carriage while being escorted through the city by Unsullied, which I later learned were a sign of great wealth. The carriage progressed at a steady passed while the Unsullied formed a perfect protective formation around it as they marched in silence towards my estate situated near the heart of Meereen alongside some of the 'Great Masters'.
