Chapter 47: "Politic huh? I Control That."
Edrea looked at the board of directors who sat with somber expressions; Noah wasn't in the meeting, only Edrea and Siria.
"Marshall Edrea, I don't think we can start the meeting without Sir Noah present," one of the board of directors said.
Another one of the board of directors stood up. "Marshall Edrea! If Sir Noah isn't here, should we proceed with the law?" he questioned, hiding a grin. "That girl killed the son of a high-ranking member, and the small families who are a part of or under them are causing a spectacle in front of the headquarters!" He gravely spoke and slammed the table.
Other board members also started to raise their voices. All of them wanted Eleis to face the consequences of her action of killing Nikolis.
Edrea and Siria ignored them completely, making all the board members raise their voices even more, and then
SLAM!!!
The door was slammed open and Noah stepped in.
"What is all this noise about?" Noah yelled, making the room go instantly quiet.
All the board members straightened up. "Why did you all go quiet now?" Noah walked in and stood at the head. "Next time all of you will be crawling out of the building if I hear you shit shout again," he threatened, making all of them break into a cold sweat, but some of them remained calm. "And no one is taking the elevator or the emergency stairs," he added, making the calm ones sweat.
Noah looked at Edrea. "Why are you still here? Shouldn't you be handling military commands in City-Z right now?" he questioned.
Edrea smiled. "How can I not stay back when there has been such drama? If anything, I will be staying till Ken leaves. As for why I am here again, there's got to be drama around you, just like what just happened, so I am going to stick around." He nonchalantly answered while mocking the board members, who were unreactive now after Noah entered.
Noah sat down and all the board members proceeded to sit as well. "Who told you all to sit?" Noah bluntly questioned, making the board members freeze. They quickly got up and stood straight again.
"Pft! Hahaha..." Siria on the side let out a laugh as she watched the board of directors, who were just a bunch of old fools acting like dogs. No, even dogs were better than them. "Hahahahahaha!!" Siria finally couldn't hold it and laughed.
Some faces on the board of directors became dark while some tried to act calm, but none dared to speak now. "Sit," Noah ordered, and they all quickly took their seats.
"Bring out the main topics first," he ordered, and the meeting smoothly began.
Siria looked on calmly while Edrea kept an ear out for all that was said. Neither of them needed to be present, but since it was the celebration, they came by. After all, neither one wanted to work; Edrea, being the Marshall, had too many duties that were tossed at him, even though he wasn't supposed to have them, so he dipped to Noah the moment his duties were completed.
Siria was a separate matter. She was free, but in BlueVail she was the main target of many political factions. Not wanting to deal with politics, she came under Noah.
Noah naturally knew this and didn't mind them, but he kept them in check.
Hours passed by and the meeting finally ended, but then one of the board of directors brought up a topic.
"Sir Noah... The matter of Nikolis's murder?" one of them asked, the same one who brought this topic to Edrea.
Noah looked at him. He was a fat man in his 50s. "Leo, what do you want by bringing this topic up?" Noah interrogated, his voice bone-chilling.
The man, Leo, flinched but didn't break eye contact with Noah. "Nikolis's death caused chaos in the law management of the city. The news of his death has spread like wildfire and has already reached all the higher position holders," he expressed solemnly.
"Is that so? Nikolis died at the hands of Eleis, and lawful action has been taken. Is that what you mean?" Noah narrowed his eyes as he waited for the answer. Leo broke into a small lecherous smile.
"Yes, the law is unable to act-"
SLAM!!!
Noah slammed the table and glared at Leo. "Another word and all your dark history will be the headline of all the news, is that understood?"
Leo's body shuddered in fear and he nodded. "Get lost, all of you," Noah ordered, and they all hurried out.
"Wow... they really act so pathetic when you are pissed... And they don't even respect me as Marshall," Edrea bitterly commented.
"That's expected. Noah is ruthless while you are restricted by the law. If they weren't scared of Noah, who is at the very top of politics, then I would fear for all the nonsense that would arise," Siria casually commented as she got up.
"Even so, being this scared is a little too much," Edrea remarked as both he and Siria looked at Noah.
"Politics, huh? I control that," he declared as he sorted through some files. "And the whole board of directors has some dark history. Not that I am an exception, but as the one holding the most power, they can't do anything; otherwise, I would just destroy them.
Law is just a set of rules for me, something I wanted can change to my liking. They know that, so they fear me."
Noah remarked.
"Oh, did you forget to count the incident 7 years ago? You made a bloodbath of a few political parties and even destroyed the political system and took over," Edrea remarked, making Noah flinch.
"Don't remind me of that..." Noah coldly said.
Siria got up. "Well, I am off. I don't have much on BlueVail now, so I am off. I got a store to run~!" she cheerily exclaimed. "See ya all later~" She disappeared, leaving her words hanging in the air.
"Well, she is energetic. She has been more active since she met Ken. Wonder if she likes him," Edrea wondered and smirked. "If she does, then things will really change in your favor," he remarked, making Noah shake his head.
"As far as I am aware, Ken has been obsessed with Eleis since his childhood... I don't know anything about her nor is she in the database, which is concerning. But Ken back then was too obsessed with her, doing everything he could to recreate her, even just an image... sigh..." Noah sighed as he also wanted Siria and Ken to get together.
"If they get together, then there is nothing I will have to worry about, but I doubt that and wouldn't rely on it. Ken is more than capable of making his own decisions. He has shown that countless times before, and I trust him to keep doing that," Noah confidently asserted as he prepared for the main event of the celebration.
"It's 6 pm, I am also off," Edrea informed and got up as well.

Above City-A, Neo floated. She had been observing the situation from the very moment Eleis manifested. "It is getting more chaotic..." She looked at the sleeping Ken and Eleis who were cuddling.
"I will also play this game... but I will side with Ken just like Eleis..." Neo declared and disappeared.
