Chapter 4: Mana
'Damn that food was good, who knew such a simple but ample meal could be so satisfying' Thor thought while holding his stomach. "Come boy, I'll show you to your room so you can get a good night's rest" Eorlund said as he was walking up the stairs to what Thor assumed would be the second story of the home. While following Eorlund Thor looked at the house and noticed how the up stairs didn't seem to be used much as there was a little dust sitting. Eorlund stopped at a door at the end of the hallway and seemed to be contemplating something till he just sighed and looked at Thor "You can use this room it might be a little dusty but nothing a little wipe off wont fix Ill also bring some blankets and pelts to keep you warm during the night" As he said this Eorlund left back down the hall to grab the blankets so Thor walked into the room.
It was a small room, probably a 10 by 10 sq. ft. room with a bed to the corner opposite of the door and its own personal fireplace to help keep the cold out and a shelf above the fireplace that held two finely crafted wooden swords. Overall despite being a small room it had enough to make it feel cozy without being too cramped. 'Wow a fireplace in a room, well I guess it's not too surprising the freljord is constantly freezing and despite people having grown accustomed to the cold I'm sure they would rather be warm and comfy while sleeping.'
A/N: I'm gonna be honest writing that part was hard for me cause I LOVE sleeping in the cold lol btw he can still be cold but only to a degree that is comfortable it will never drop to a harmful or uncomfortable level
Thor started walking around the room for a bit, wiping off the little bit of accumulated dust and airing it out through the slit in the roof above the fireplace that lets the smoke from the fire out. Thor finally got to looking at the 2 wooden swords above the fireplace. 'These look amazing, too bad I'm too small to grab them and see how they feel' "You like swords, boy?" Thor looks over to see Eorlund standing at the door pelts and blanket in hand and looking at him with a raised eyebrow and a small smile. "I don't know I've never touched a sword"
Eorlund just smiles more, puts the pelts and blanket on the bed before walking over and grabbing both swords off the shelf and handing them to Thor. "Try them out, tell me how they feel" Thor nods before swinging them around one in each hand 'This is kind of weird I was right handed in my last life but with the ambidextrous talent both hands feel the same' after a little bit of swinging them around Thor looks at Eorlund "They feel nice but they are too heavy, my arms hurt a little after just swinging them around" Eorlund just chuckles "Ay they are to heavy for you after all you are but a small boy and will need a couple years to grow, but you have a good talent for dual wielding weapons I noticed that you have no hand preference so if you practice and get stronger I'm sure you'll be a strong lad. But enough of this you need to sleep now if you want to grow."
As Eorlund says this he puts the swords back on the shelf before starting the fireplace "Thank you for everything Grandpa Eorlund" Eorlund standing at the door just smiles "No need to thank me boy, me and Fralia are doing what everyone should do although many may not." As Eorlund closes the door and leaves Thor is left thinking 'I should try staying with Eorlund and Fralia and learning from them, I'm only 5 right now and my only real means of protection is lightning fang' as Thor was thinking that he just realized he doesn't even realize how to use lightning fang and how to charge it 'system how do I use lightning fang and what energy am I using' [To use Lightning fang the host just needs to will it to appear and have enough mana, right now the host has enough mana to use lighting fang for about 30 seconds every 2 of hours] 'Oh so I have mana that gives me a number of ideas to get stronger. System do I have a mana core or what not?' [Yes host the mana core you are speaking of is a spiritual core connected to the body and the soul that takes in and stores mana from the environment] "is the mana core like a muscle and can grow bigger with more use?" [Yes host]
'What if I try circulating my mana around my body but then what about my soul? Would that nourish it too? I wouldn't want any problems like I've seen in some novels where the body and soul are out of balance or what not' [Host does not have to worry the body and soul are connected and by circulating mana through the body you are also circulating it over the soul because they are overlapped]
A/N: Does this make sense to you all or just me?
'Alright let's try this, system where is my mana core?' [It is in your heart] 'Oh okay, lets try sensing this thing and circulating my mana' Thor stayed laying down in bed for 5 minutes before he sensed his mana core 'alright i found it now how should i circulate it, if I had to think I would say through my arteries. What do you think system?' [Arteries is the correct way] 'ok lets do it then' It only took Thor a couple minutes to control his mana and circulate it through his arteries. 'System I thought it's supposed to be hard to control your mana. Why did I have no problem?' [Because host has lived life with no mana before so suddenly having mana makes the host very sensitive to it and have good control] Thor having his curiosity fulfilled makes two more cycles with his mana before exhaustion washes over him and he falls to sleep.
