Chapter 19: Gnar

Thor looked at the quickly approaching Gnar and while he knew that he should be fine he still prepared his body in case he was attacked. Yet when Gnar reached right in front of Thor he stopped.

Thor not knowing what to do just went with the first thing that came to mind. "Uhh hi" Gnar hearing Thor speak had his eyes seemingly light up as he started jumping all around while saying the word "Gnar" in different tones and enunciations.

A/N: For those who don't know Gnar doesn't know the human language and it is believed that the language he uses is the Ancient Yordle language yet it is also said in the lore that Gnar used to talk to the yetis because they were very wise to him and he would always come to them with questions he was curious of. So I'm gonna make it so Gnar can understand what others mean even though he doesn't know their language, kind of like an empath but where that is for emotions his is for intentions? I'm not sure what the right word would be. My brain knows I've heard it somewhere but I can't think of it.

Seeing Gnar jumping around all happy and excited Thor sat down and relaxed as he observed Gnar. Gnar was a small orange furred creature that had a red and blue coloration on his ears and on the end of his fluffy tail and size wise he probably reached Thor's knees when he is standing. He had a bird skull on his head with a brown cloth surrounding his waist and the jawbone of a druvask in his hand that he uses as a boomerang. A druvask is a large boar in the freljord that is usually eaten as food but sometimes are allowed to grow to adulthood where they will be used as war mounts.

Thor just sat there in the snow for a bit watching Gnar jump around while yelling his weird language that seemed to consist entirely of the word Gnar just in different ways of pronouncing and emotion used. After a while of enjoying the show Thor believed it was time to get things rolling.

"So is your name Gnar' Thor asked, trying to get the little furballs' attention. Gnar hearing his name stopped and quickly ran back up to Thor "Gnar Gnar Gnar" Gnar answered back. Thor could already feel a headache coming on as he for some reason thought he could communicate with Gnar. 'Uhh lets just try something if it doesn't work then I'll just have to take this as a lost cause'

"Gnar do you understand me" Thor asked practically begging in his mind to let it be that Gnar for some reason or another understands what he is saying. Gnar sat there for a bit just staring at Thor's face before finally nodding his head up and down While saying the word Gnar.

A/N: This is repetitive as fuck to write lmao

Thor let out a breadth of relief as it seemed Gnar does have the capacity to understand. What went on from there is a series of back and forth where Thor would ask a yes or no question and Gnar would answer with a nod or shake of the head.

After a little while of doing that Thor got to a big question. "Gnar, do you want to explore the world with me and see a bunch of cool and different things?" Yes this was Thors plan, to hinge on Gnar's seemingly insatiable curiosity toward all things. Thor's main reason to want Gnar to join him is that Gnar is incredibly strong! In the game Mega Gnar which is Gnar's angry version has the highest stats and magic resistance in the game.

Now this doesn't exactly correlate with real life exactly but he is still incredibly strong to the point Thor even if he was to fight all out with Mega Gnar might not be able to win because of how crazy strong he is and how resistant to magic he is.

Gnar sat there for a bit and seemed to daze off while thinking about the question before after about 5 min snapped back to reality and quickly nodded his head agreeing to joining Thor. Thor let out a sigh of relief before standing up and putting his hand out in a fist for s fist bump towards Gnar.

"Well then let's get traveling partner" Gnar stood there staring at the fist before widely opening his mouth and chomping down on Thor's hand. "AHHHH LET GOOOO THAT HURTS YOU BASTARD!!!!!" Thor yelled as he swung his arm around trying to get Gnar off and after a minute Gnar let go, seeming to be dizzy from all the spinning.

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?! NOW MY HANDS BLEEDING!!" Thor yelled at Gnar only to notice that Gnar seemed to be completely clueless as to what he did wrong. 'Damn it, I didn't think id have a pet in this world that I would need to train right from wrong and why was that moment back there so cliché I swear I've seen that so many times in different anime'

Anyway after that little incident Thor, Sigrid, and Gnar started traveling and Thor was heading east this time toward Naljaag which should take him around two months to get there.
