The office was filled with various instruments, screens, and electronic devices, and it also featured a partitioned area.
Through the floor-to-ceiling windows dividing the office, one could see two cribs, with Saint Gillies and Robert lying inside them.
Perhaps due to being well-fed or the comfort of the mattresses and bedding, the two children slept soundly.
Outside the partition, Samuel Young, dressed in casual business attire, stood beside a desk, discussing something with a blonde female researcher seated behind a computer.
The researcher, with her hair tied in a ponytail, had an impressive figure even in her lab coat. Her name tag read "Alexia Ashford / Head of Bioengineering, Atlas."
Having once again received test results from her, Samuel couldn't help but turn towards the partition, his brow furrowed.
Ever since the space gate opened, furrowing his brow had become a habitual action for Samuel, as he was troubled.
He was a Chinese man with black hair and black eyes, yet suddenly, he had two blonde sons? And they were sons who had a 99.999% genetic similarity with him?
But those concerns were secondary. The more pressing issue was that these two "miracle" sons were Primarchs!
If the Emperor of Mankind from "Warhammer 30,40k" could be considered a god, then Primarchs, as his direct descendants, were demigods. Super soldiers known as Astartes, created based on the Primarchs, were angels surpassing ordinary mortals.
For those unfamiliar with "Warhammer 30,40k," finding two Primarch sons might seem like an incredible fortune.
However, the reality was that half of the Primarchs were either corrupted into Chaos or rebelled due to their stubborn, childish nature, plunging humanity back into darkness despite the chance to escape the Warp's grasp and enter a new era.
The Emperor's ultimate fate was to sit on the Golden Throne, burning himself to fuel the Astronomican, which guided humanity through the Warp and provided a psychic shield for Holy Terra against dark forces.
Even though the Emperor remained active in the Warp, in the physical universe, he had become a near-dead "corpse."
Therefore, it was no wonder Samuel was troubled upon learning that his sons were Primarchs.
Fortunately, his two "good sons" were loyalist Primarchs, Saint Gillies and Robert, not from the traitor factions in "Warhammer 30,40k."
After three months of personally caring for them, Samuel had developed some affection for these two little ones, which was, of course, partly due to their well-behaved nature. Had it been Perturabo...
At this thought, Samuel felt even more troubled.
Meanwhile, Alexia, the researcher, seemed oblivious to her boss's concerns. She continued to look at the computer screen, reporting, "Based on three months of observation and weekly full-body examinations, boss, these two children are growing much faster than normal."
"Although the current data shows they are far from surpassing you, they might exceed your strength and speed when they grow up. Who knows?"
With that, Alexia shrugged and continued to record the day's test results.
Alexia Ashford, the head of the Bioengineering Department, was a "special" figure, much like the boss from "Resident Evil Code: Veronica." In the game, Alexia was a genius created by her father, Alexander Ashford, through genetic engineering, graduating from Cambridge University at ten with top honors.
However, such intelligence often leads to warped personalities, like arrogance and obsession, especially when burdened with the expectation of reviving her family's glory. Upon discovering she was a genetic creation and not a "chosen one," she turned on her "father," ultimately injecting herself with the Veronica Virus and hibernating for 15 years to safely integrate the virus with her body.
Unfortunately, due to external events, she awakened four days earlier than planned, preventing her from achieving a perfect form and ultimately leading to her demise at the hands of a linear particle cannon developed by Alexander.
However, the Alexia Ashford in the main universe was also a genius, earning a biology doctorate at sixteen, but she was born into a normal family as an only child. Her academic achievements were soon recognized by Atlas, where she quickly rose to a core position.
Samuel, on the other hand, silently dismissed Alexia's speculation about the future strength of the two Primarchs, thinking to himself, 'That's impossible.'
After successfully absorbing all of Omega's blood and completing a [reset], Samuel could distinctly feel an enhancement in his physical prowess and psychic abilities.
This led him to hypothesize that he possessed a [Plunder] ability, allowing him to absorb the abilities of high-value targets upon killing them, thereby enhancing himself.
However, he wasn't yet sure if this [Plunder] ability would activate for his subordinates when they killed high-value targets. Nonetheless, he and Atlas still had ample time to test this out.
Samuel also believed that as his abilities grew, Saint Gillies and Robert would likewise become stronger, given their current data projections, which suggested they wouldn't meet the minimum baseline for Primarchs even in adulthood.
Furthermore, Samuel found some solace in his past as a gaming enthusiast. The gaming experiences, often criticized by "parents" and "experts," surprisingly provided valuable help in navigating the challenges and phenomena of this new world.
While gaming, as a form of the ninth art, can become addictive, it's not the games that are the problem but the neglect, criticism, mockery, bullying, and lack of affection in one's upbringing. Immersing oneself in the game world was the only source of solace and safety for these children... Of course, some people might be "born evil"; anything is possible, and one shouldn't attribute all faults to a single cause.
Standing by the window, Samuel watched Saint Gillies sucking his right thumb and Robert sleeping on his stomach.
His experiences since crossing over had made him abandon conventional methods of raising children, but at this moment, Samuel silently resolved to ensure his sons would not grow up in a negative environment.
After a moment of silence, Samuel turned to Alexia and voiced a thought that had been on his mind since the space gate opened:
"Using my genes and those of Saint Gillies and Robert, can you and your team create super soldiers beyond just Astartes, and can they be mass-produced?"
"Mass-produced super soldiers?"
