He still felt that way when Jack woke them both in the middle of the night with a bout of sneezing.

“I’m f-f-f-freezing.” Jack moaned. He was shivering hard, and his teeth chattered.

“I’ll take care of you.” Tom rolled out of bed, but it took him a moment to steady himself before he could approach the wall that held the thermostat. He squinted at it, finally able to note it read seventy-six. After he turned it up another couple of degrees, he retrieved another blanket from the linen closet and spread it out over the big man.

Jack peered at him out of bloodshot eyes.

“I feel like shit.” He caught Tom’s hand. “I didn’t catch this from you.”
