Chapter 39: CHAPTER 39

Twilight slowly but steadily gave in for the moon to shine, the night wore in but neither jack nor ayra closed their eyes.

They both tossed and turned in their bed thinking about each other and wondered what the other was thinking at the moment.

Ayra yawned lightly, I should get some sleep she muttered closing her eyes but Jack's face swarmed into her face. Arrghhhhh I am his girlfriend already, why the heck does he get to still torment my dreams and disrupt my sleep? Suddenly the door bell jared her from her whining spranging up slowly, she listened carefully and the bell resounded again this time louder.

"Ayraaaaaa check who's at the door" Alice shouted from her room " and if it's any of my friends tell him/her I'm asleep. "

Ayra grumpily stood up from her comfy bed, to see who the intruder was.

Meanwhile Ella and kachi stood with different expressions on their faces as Ella pressed the bell.

"Ella you didn't tell me this is where we were headed" kachi spoke up slightly agitated.

"Relax babe it's ayra 's house, it's not a problem."

Tsk she scratched at her afro hair styled into two bun "Still you could have said something to me, we ain't even close what if she doesn't want to see me? "

"Why wouldn't she? "

"I don't know" kachi replied with lowered eyes "I just really hate going to someone's house uninvited."

"I understand but it's ayra I'm sure she wouldn't mind one bit , just so you know ayra likes you and she normally doesn't like people."

"Am I supposed to be flattered? " Kachi asked with an obvious frown.

"Nah no I'm implying that we visiting her aint an issue and after all you were the person that said I should try and patch things up with her, this is the only way I know she won't ignore me." She explained.

"I know I said so, but - is it necessary to involve me?" Kachi questioned admiring the garden in front of the homey porch, though it was dark she could still recognize a lot of flowers and knew from experience that it was well taken care of plus the scents filled the area creating a more relaxed atmosphere. The Thompson really had a nice home, she thought to herself looking around the lofty building, it wasn't a mansion yet it wasn't small either the house was just a perfect fit with lovely flowers as decorations in the pouch oh and she was a sucker for flowers and gardens. From the interior of the the house, kachi was certain the inside would be surperb as well.

Ella inhaled a deep breath and understood kachi's point of view , she really wanted her best friend back desperately but was handling it the wrong way she had no right to drag kachi against her will to a place she didn't want to be." Kachi I'm sorry for making you come here with me against your wish, but I really needed another friend to stand by me today ayra can be capricious, I don't know how she would reacte on seeing me but with you here with me I have a feeling she would behave, sorry for trying to use you." She apologized

"Tsk that's fine Ella I understand and I'm really glad you consider me a friend."

"You can go back now c'mon I will help you get a ride home, they ain't even opening the door maybe they are asleep already."

"No Ella I'm sticking with you we are here we might as well get it over and done with, try calling her on her phone . " She suggested

"Yeah let me do that" it was at that moment that ayra shoved the door open and stared at the visitors in surprise but she quickly relaxed her features and tried to give nothing away .

"Ella what are you doing here? It's late" she muttered faking a yawn and intentionally didn't acknowledge kachi.

"Hey ayra" kachi greeted waving her hands a little.

"Oh kachi hello" ayra replied acting as though she was just seeing her " .

"Ayra sorry to disturb you Ella started speaking up, we came to see you and have been ringing the door bell for a long period of time can we come in? "

"Of course you guys can - definitely come in" she replied moving her body out of the way, and opening the door wide.

"An awkward silence reigned as the they settled themselves on the sofas while ayra remained standing clueless on what to do nor say, on a normal day whenever Ella visited they went straight to her room and gisted but today was different ,first she was acting like a guest, sitting down gently the Ella she was accomsted to jumped on sofas and secondly she came with an actual guest. Gosh why did Ella even bring kachi to her home didn't she have any lick of sense? She questioned herself starring at kachi and wondering what she was thinking at the moment, maybe she was criticizing their home in her heart and whining it was too British and white centered.

"Uhm I wasn't expecting you guys, I would have prepared something but let me get you guys a glass of juice."

"Don't bother ayra, I actually came to speak with you on what transpired between us in class. "

"Oh okay" ayra folded her hands across her chest "go ahead i'm all ears and i'm sure kachi was entertained by our little drama and would like a repeat. " She said without thinking.

Kachi swallowed hard and felt like disappearing into thin air "Ayra I didn't enjoy the fight between two of you because it was lame and uncalled for and I would be sick in the head to enjoy fights amongst best friends, it's obvious that you don't want me in your home I would take my leave now she said standing up. Before I leave I hope you patch things up with Ella she really misses you and I can see from your eyes that miss her too, your home is really beautiful and the flowers are a nice touch , good bye. " She muttered in a breath.

Ayra opened her mouth in consternation and closed it back, unable to believe how cruel and mean she had behaved and before she could call kachi to stay she was gone already.

Feeling stupid and guilty at the same time she raised her eyes to Ella's taut face and folded arms "Ayra Thompson Nut we can talk now!!!."
