Chapter 9: Mana lilies
Konfare .POV.
Today me (Konfare) and my party are going to the blue glow dungeon, it's one of the three only glow dungeons in the Kovlon forrest, and the plants that grow there are useful for all sorts of things but mainly mana potions, and us elf use a lot of magic.
the blue glow dungeon plants make food and potions to help with mana, the red glow dungeon plants make medicines potions and lotions for injuries and sicknesses, and the yellow glow dungeon gives plants that are very healthy for you and can boost ones strength, agility, speed or intelligence temporarily depending on which plants you use.
We silently marched into the dungeon, giving some time to let our eyes adjust to the strong blue hue, we'll be heading deep into the dungeon, we all ready ourselves just in case this dungeon may be relatively peaceful but it's not void of all danger, foxes, foxes are the apex predator here, there weren't always foxes here they actually came from the red glow dungeon which is the most dangerous of the three, but for some reason they migrated here, it used to be you just had to be careful around magical beasts but now yo need to have eyes in the back of your head, luckily foxes are from the red glow dungeon and their coats are bright orange, they stand out a lot in blue leafs.
We make it to a clearing with a large rock in the centre, almost there, we walk through the clearing making sure not to step in a rabbit hole, although horned rabbits are normal animals they are known to fight back and getting rammed by one is less than ideal and if you anger a magical beast rabbit your as good as dead.
We make it ti the other side of the clearing safely and keep walking until we arrived at our destination, a second medium sized clearing full of flowers in every different shade of blue and purple, but the ones we are looking for are azure tiger lilies also known as blue stargazer Lilys or mana lilies, we all fan out and start picking the mana lilies then putting them in the bags on our backs.
Almost all of the mana lilies have been picked now but the guard Thant was standing at the edge of the forrest had started running towards us panicked.
"FOX! IT'S A FOX!!"
'Damn this is the worst possible situation, maybe if the fox is far enough away we might be able to run away from it!'
"How far is it?!"
"Right on the edge of the forest!!"
'Right at the edge of the clearing? No way we can't get away if it's that close!'
The guard was right, as the fox walked just at the edge of the clearing the elf party could see small parts of its vibrant orange fur, this fox was good at hiding itself, its orange fur is usually a dead giveaway yet this fox was able to get within striking distance of the guard before he even realised it was there, every one panicked they all knew that at this distance they couldn't get away.
"Everyone on me!"
I yelled for everyone to group up, it's safer if we're all together, as the last of us grouped up the fox finally came out into the flowers, its smaller than I remember foxes being maybe its not fully grown? Regardless it's still dangerous.
This fox seemed different it hasn't charged at us yet and its not growling at all, I know it can see us because its looking right at us and walking in our direction, it's very close now every one is shaking in fear and it is defiantly within striking distance now, but instead of attacking us it smells us? And what is that a snake? Why is there a snake on its back and one of the most rare and poisonous ones at that a metallic python, it's called metallic because it is reflective, and why is it wearing glasses?
I've only more questions now, but the fox is no longer sniffing us It's attention is elsewhere now, the ground it's smelling the ground bellow the layer of flowers, then it did something no one was expecting it jumped and dove its face into the ground and ripped the largest magical beast horned rabbit I have ever seen right out of the ground and killed it.
Everything happened so fast that if you had blinked you would have missed it, we all ran as soon as the fox and snake were preoccupied with eating, I don't think me or anyone in my party will ever forget the snake with glasses and the fox with blue and green eyes.
