Amalia and Kenny Lin exchanged a glance before stealthily moving closer. As the sounds grew louder, they finally saw what was happening.

A man was surrounded by a group of devils. Several devils attempted to launch a sneak attack from behind, but the man quickly dispatched them. They didn't last more than a few moves in his hands. The devil leader watched with an increasingly grave expression.

"Lord Forvach, this human's strength is formidable. We've already lost several of our own. If we keep fighting, even if we manage to kill him, our losses will be devastating," a devil reported to the leader.

"I know. But if we retreat now, I suspect he already knows our objective. If we let him leave, he could expose our secret," Forvach replied.

Forvach hadn't expected the first human cultivator they encountered to be such a tough opponent. But now, there was no choice but to press on.
