Chapter 13: Surprise [2]
MingLi got out of the bath and quickly statrted getting ready. When she noticed the dress.
"XiaYi, where did you get this dress?" MingLi asked as she got dressed. "Oh, I had it designed for you", he said indifferently. MingLi got up and placed simple mascara and lipstick on. She walked out of her room toward XiaYi who was sitting on the couch going through documents. The dress was mostly black but had dark blue streaks in it and shone in light, it was strapless and had a low back it came short in front and lengthened toward the back, revealing her God given legs. She had a matching pair of black heels it was very high and elegant emphasising her figure. XiaYi took a deep breathe to calm the urging feeling to lock her up and never let the world see her. "Beautiful", he said one word and was stunned beyond comprehension. After a few minutes he regained his senses and kissed her deeply. Forget a year, he wanted her now. Today. This very second. He controlled himself and took her arm. A limousine waiting to take them to the surprise. As they arrived the hall looked empty with all the lights off. All of a sudden XiaYi disappeared. The light turned on simultaneously. MingLi closed her eyes before hearing surprise. The hall was beautiful decorated, its marble interior glowed brilliantly. MingLi looked dumbstruck. She didn't know how to react. Her mouth was dropped and she struggled to close it. XiaYi lofted her chin and kissed her quickly. He whispered into her, "Are you surprised?"
"Mmhhm", MingLi replied. Still not sure what was happening. She felt a large hand on her shoulder. "Grandpa", she smiled silently. On that instant XiaYi had the biggest shock ever. With that one word, the old, cold and arrogant chairman of Xi Empire disappeared, replaced with a loving, doting grandfather. "MingMing, grandpa didn't know your boyfriend was the heir of the Si family. You should have told grandpa, he would have sent you back immediately and not forced for you to run his company". MingLi sighed inwardly and replied. "Oh grandpa, MingMing didn't want Grandpa to worry. She was willing to run the company and go with Grandpa to America", she soothed the worried grandfather very easily. "You don't have run the company in America, rather MingMing can run the main company in Beijing". MingLi looked at her grandfather then smiled, "Really? As CEO?" Grandpa smiled and poked MingLi's dimples. "Of course, Grandpa wouldn't lie to you, now enjoy your gala, grandpa is gonna go talk to some friends". He walked away leaving MingLi with XiaYi, who still couldn't believe what he had just witnessed. "Thank you so much, Darling". MingLi greeted everyone, lingering a bit with JiaXi and ShenGu before XiaYi introduced her to his friends. MingLi greeted each friend warmly and smiling happily as she they shook hands with each of them. Then it came to the last person standing in the group.
