Caught off guard by the sudden attack from his father, Rodolphus Lestrange, hit by the Cruciatus Curse, was experiencing the full brunt of the spell.
He rolled on the ground, writhing and screaming in unbearable pain.

Seeing Gay Lestrange suddenly besieging his own son with one of the Unforgivable Curses—without any mercy—the remaining dark wizards who followed him stood frozen.
They couldn't comprehend what was happening before them.
Why had their group leader suddenly attacked his own men instead of the boy sitting calmly at the counter?
Bellatrix, who had been bracing herself for a harsh, grueling battle—given the other side's advantage in numbers—watched the scene unfolding before her with wide eyes.
The dark wizards around her might not have been able to see what had happened, but she had seen it clearly.
When Gay Lestrange was about to attack Leo with the Cruciatus Curse, he had suddenly frozen.
It happened the moment his eyes locked with Leo's, whose red eyes gleamed ominously, with two spinning tomoe within them.
"Is this the power of the Morningstar family?"
She exclaimed internally in awe, her wide eyes fixed on Leo, who sat at the counter, smug and composed.
Ahhhhh~
"Please..."
"Crucio!"
Ahhh~
"Father..."
"Crucio!"
Ahhhhhhhh~
"Crucio!"
An eerie silence enveloped the shop, occasionally interrupted by flashes of red light as the curse was cast repeatedly.
The only sounds that broke the silence were Radolphus's screams and desperate pleas for his father to stop.
The ordeal dragged on, the loud screams of Rodolphus echoing and attracting the attention of those outside on the streets of Diagon Alley.
Nearby shop owners and pedestrians began to gather, their curiosity piqued by the commotion.
Ever since Voldemort had begun recruiting followers, many dark wizards claiming to be Death Eaters had started terrorizing the peace of Wizarding Britain.
If it weren't for the reassurance that Dumbledore resided in Wizarding Britain, many would have already left for other wizarding countries.
In recent years, these Death Eaters had taken to smuggling, attacking, and looting shops—especially for those unlucky enough to be caught off guard.
The Aurors, responsible for protecting civilians and stopping the dark wizards, were often overpowered by the Death Eaters, their efforts seemingly futile against the rising tide of darkness.
This failure had left many on the brink of losing hope in the very protectors meant to shield them.
Thus, an unwritten rule began circulating: close your shop before nightfall to avoid being robbed or attacked by the dark wizards.
But now, noticing someone bold enough to stand against these dark wizards—and with the strength to back it up—curiosity began to ripple through the crowd outside.
People started gathering in front of the new shop, where the dark wizards had just entered, drawn by the piercing screams of Rodolphus, who sounded as though he was in unimaginable torment.
"Father! What did you do to my father?"
The growing crowd seemed to make Rabastan Lestrange nervous.
Breaking the tense silence, Gay's second son pointed at Leo and shouted angrily.
Haha~
"Here comes the second one... Gay Lestrange, how about disciplining your other cub too?"
With a mocking laugh, Leo lazily pointed at Rabastan, who was visibly enraged, and issued his next command to Gay Lestrange, still under his control.
"____"
Rabastan hadn't expected such a derisive response. His face twisted in anger.
"Father... I don't know how this bastard controlled you, but don't worry—I'll free you! Everyone, attack together!"
Seeing his father, under the boy's control, ready to attack him, Rabastan urgently rallied the remaining dark wizards.
'Just you wait... My father might block a few spells, but what about the others? Let's see how smug you are then!'
Even if Leo could control Gay through some dirty trick, Rabastan firmly believed that their numerical advantage would overwhelm both his father and the boy at the counter.
"Cowards... Avis!"
Bellatrix, seeing Rabastan intent on besieging Leo with the group's combined attack, cursed under her breath and swiftly cast the Avis spell.
Small, empty chocolate frog boxes from the nearby dustbin were instantly transformed into small yellow birds.
Chirp~ Chirp~
Chirp~ Chirp~
The flock of transfigured birds, chirping loudly, launched themselves at jet speed toward the dark wizards.
Thud~ Thud~
"Protego!"
Some dark wizards managed to cast shield charms in time, while others dodged with their reflexes.
A few weren't as lucky, losing their balance as the birds struck them with surprising force.
Even though the Avis spell seemed simple, it required a deep understanding of transfiguration to cast effectively.
Blocking the transfigured birds was tricky; their agility and slipperiness made them difficult to counter.
Thud!
"Ahh!"
One of the yellow birds struck Rabastan square on the forehead, sending him stumbling backward.
He clutched his head in pain, glaring at Bellatrix with reddened eyes, tears threatening to spill.
"You!!!" he roared angrily, pointing at her in fury.
Some of the dark wizards succeeded in casting the Killing Curse toward Leo, but before the spells could reach him, a pitch-black barrier materialized from his shadow, absorbing the impact.
Sheesh~
Although the shadow shield blocked the Killing Curse, Leo could clearly see the corrosive effects of the curse as it ate away at the barrier's surface.
It was one of the unique abilities granted by the Dracula Template.
Crack!
Before Rabastan could further berate Bellatrix, an electric arc crackled through the air, striking him and several other dark wizards.
The energy coursed through their bodies, leaving them paralyzed and emitting thin wisps of dark smoke.
"Soul Steal."
Leo extended his right hand, his forefinger aimed directly at the immobilized dark wizards.
As his cold voice echoed through the room, his eyes gleamed with a chilling light.
From the tip of his finger, shadowy apparitions resembling malevolent spirits burst forth, launching themselves at the group of dark wizards.
"Ahhhh!"
"What's happening to me? Father, save me!"
"Protego! Damn it, why won't Protego stop these spirits?!"
The spectral entities invaded the bodies of the dark wizards, tearing into their very souls like a pack of ravenous wolves.
Their agonized screams filled the shop as the spirits fed on their life essence.
Once the dark spirits devoured the souls, they returned to Leo, their task incomplete.
After briefly merging with him, they emerged again, continuing their relentless assault on the wizards' remaining fragments of life.
The horrifying process persisted until every dark wizard, including Rodolphus and Rabastan, lay lifeless.
Their bodies became empty shells, their eyes turned white, their skin pale and cold.
"Gay, clean this mess... and kill yourself."
Leo's voice was calm, devoid of emotion, as he issued his final command to Gay Lestrange.
"Disintegrate!"
Without hesitation, Gay cast an eradication spell on the corpses of his sons and accomplices.
Their bodies disintegrated into fine particles, vanishing completely as if they had never existed.
Afterward, he methodically used a cleaning spell to erase every trace of their presence.
With the task completed, Gay walked outside, where a crowd of onlookers stared at the shop in stunned silence, their expressions frozen in shock as though they had witnessed ghosts.
He calmly raised his wand to his temple and muttered the incantation for a Blasting Curse.
Boom~
The curse detonated, obliterating his head in an instant.
His headless corpse collapsed onto the cobbled street of Diagon Alley with a sickening thud, leaving the crowd horrified and speechless.
