“Yeah. I know, but I’ve known Wayne, like what a couple of weeks? I worked for RJ the last, what, eight months? When I’m around RJ, my stomach gets all knotted. I feel like I’m always wanting to please him, to make him need me. Like I desire his approval.”

Jen crossed his arms. “I think I mentioned this earlier didn’t I? This wanting, pleasing part of you. You need to think about yourself. I mean, Wayne sounds like he’s good for you. What are you worried about?” She put the spatula in the sink and looked at both Jack and Pad. “That’s he some mass murderer?” She laughed. “That he’s straight?”

“I don’t know why I’m all confused by this.”

“Well, you’ve got a few months to make a decision,” added Jack. “Then RJ will be home. Where’s Wayne, anyway? Figured you’d be afraid to let go of Mr. Roses for a second. I know I would because Wayne’s fuckinghot.”

Pad cut his eyes to Jack.
