She walked in, wearing a fitted salmon and paisley Lilly Pulitzer dress. Even though she wore a summer-style oversized bonnet and large sunglasses to cover her face and eyes, RJ quickly recognized who walked in with Chaz. “My mom is here! Did you know she was coming?”

“I called her a few days ago and begged her to come.”

“How did you get her to change her mind?”

“It didn’t take a lot. I got the feeling she was expecting one of us to call her and actually talkto her. I think she really wanted to come.”
