Chapter 15: Now CHOOSE!
Start of our fourth year in college, everyone is excited and confident about our soon to be graduation. We sure hope to graduate as a whole, no one will be left behind. So everytime one of our classmates struggle we help him or her so that none will be left behind. This semester was harmonious in terms of studies but disastrous in terms of relationshiop. Yes, I know what you all have been thinking I was a two timing jerk. I can't help it, I mean think about it too many beautiful women but there are only few guys. You know ratio, this and that. Back to the disaster, I was really on fault this time cause my mom now knew about my two timing scheme...
Mom: Ash, is it true?
Ashton: The what ma?
Mom: That Emerald and Lavender are both your girlfriends?
Ashton: Well, yeah you can put it that way.
Mom: You should stop this. Even though you are a guy you should respect women. You should only choose one.
Ashton: Wait a minute who told you about this?
Mom: I'm not stupid, someone used my phone to text two numbers and both replied with " love you ". That someone must have been the dog, the cat , the cow or someone stupid enough to hide something like this from his mom.
Ashton: This stupid has nothing else to say.
Mom: This mom of stupid has something to say, stop this or soon you'll regret it. If this won't get into you then don't blame me because a mother is always right.
That was a blunt move, now my mom knows. Emerald and Lavender came to my house but separately multiple times. My family knows that my girlfriend is Lavender and not Emerald. I told my family that Emerald is only my bestfriend. Cheeky huh? Well it's on the techniques, strategies and what not. Soon all my relatives knew about this even my cousins. Disaster came when I got a surprise house visit from Emerald, I wasn't there when she came because I drove Lavender home...
Dad: Oh, dear come, come inside just wait for Ashton here he left to fetch groceries.
Emerald: Maybe it's just my timing isn't right sir.
Dad: No just wait for him he'll come home soon.
Emerald waited for me for fifteen minutes. Then my nosey grade school sister came to the living room where she was waiting...
Freya (my sister): . . . . .
Emerald: Oh, hi are you Freya? What grade are you now?
Freya: Are you my brothers girl?
Emerald: Yes you can put it like that why?
Freya: What's your name?
Emerald: I am Emerald.
Freya: Reaaalllly? Do you like cartoons? I like Barbie and Bratz
Emerald: Well yes sometimes.
Freya: Can you climb a coconut tree?
Emerald: Nooo, haha why do you ask?
Freya: My mom likes coconuts because sometimes she's nuts
Emerald: Haha who told you that? Silly.
Freya: My dad
Emerald: Where did you saw a lady climb up a tree?
Freya: I saw many times, my brother's friend.
Emerald: Excuuuse me? Who?
Freya: I don't know her name.
That moment Emerald spaced out from thinking. Can a child really solve her mysterious question? Did Ashton really have another woman besides her? Why now? Her guts told her something is definitely fishy. It has been thirty minites since I left. She texted me numerous times but I can't leave Lavender just like that. Fifty five minutes passed when suddenly my cousin arrived at home to give my mother meals prepared by my uncle. My cousin is three years younger than me but all my cousins from my mother's side are all close to me, to us. Just like brother's and sister's we do tell every detail. We are so close to each other that every Friday and Saturday evening we all gathered to our house and eat dinner together. I also shared to them that I had two girlfriends but some of them never saw Lavender nor Emerald. My cousin who came to visit only saw Lavender once but not Emerald. That time Emerald is busy she was about to go home but she is ramaging her bag searching for her phone so my cousin didn't see her face...
Cousin: Hey! Lavender you still here I thought you just left.
Emerald: Lavender who???
Cousin: Oh! Shooot. Hi sis. No I thought you were someone else.
Emerald: Who is Lavender!! 😠 TELL ME!!! OR I'LL SKIN YOU ALIVE!!
Cousin: Haha 😅 No it is my... Uhm the dogs name.....
Emerald: Are you calling me a dog?!?!
Cousin: No! No! I'm sorry just ask my cousin. I don't know anything. (leaves)
Emerald was so angry that time she don't know what to do. So she asked my grade school sister about it cause you know kids don't lie...
Emerald: Hey, Freya remember when you told me that your brother's friend the one who can climb the coconut tree? Can you recall her name?
Freya: No, do you know her?
Emerald: Yes, she is my friend too. Does her name begin with the letter L?
Freya: I'm not sure?
Emerald: eeeeelllllll, la la la la la?
Freya: Oh I think I remember it's something like Lilac?
Emerald: Close enough. I'll go ahead tell your brother that I just came. Goodbye.
Later I opened my phone to see her sixty six missed calls and forty plus messages and it's so long. I did not read any of it because I feel tired by just looking how long it is. I called her instead and she was crying. Now she knew about Lavender. The next day she and Lavender got into a cat fight lucky enough that they were in different classes. Lavender is in third year while Emerald and I were on fourth year. I was so angry and frustated that time. Especially to my cousin, he revealed my secret. Mom told me to not be upset but instead do the right thing, so I did. The two ladies want me to choose only one. It was hard to choose but in the end I choose Lavender. I choose her because my family likes her also my mom likes her a lot. She even took care of my mom when I was away because of a group project. And I absolutely love her. I gave up Emerald because she is a little too controlling sometimes and she is also bossy.
After our graduation, we parted different ways. I also applied for my board exam but did not passed it. The second time, Lavender and I enrolled to a review center. Luckily for Lavender she passed on her first try but for me luck seems to dodge me. The third, the forth, the fifth time I took the board exam, I failed. I failed so many times that I eventually gave up. I told my parents that I will no longer take board exams and I will now build my own business. I invested my money (my parent's money I should say) on computers. My computer shop was a good business to start with and now I am running it for almost a year. Lavender took a flight and worked at another country, where she can earn more money. I missed her so much. So everytime we missed each other we communicate through the internet. Time flies so fast, it has been two years since Lavender and I saw face to face.
What will happen to Ashton after that? Will his action can result something good? Or will it result to something bad? Tune in...
