Wendy shrunk her neck a little as she didn't know how to respond. With her eyes red, she said, "You're hurting me!"
She sounded aggrieved, as if Caroline was as strong as Hercules, whereas she was just a weak female.
Caroline snorted and flung her hand away.
Wendy rubbed her wrist in grievance and muttered, "I was just telling the truth, but you're hurting me. I don't even understand how you're still acting so arrogant when you will soon be removed from your position."
Although the others were silent, most of them shared the same idea as Wendy.
However, Caroline could not be bothered at all. She swept a glance at the crowd and asked, "You have all placed your bets, haven't you?"
Wendy retorted, "Why would we lie to you about this? Shirley and Jenny, your current and former assistants, were the only ones who chose to be on your side."
Caroline smiled. "Is that so?"
Her gaze swept over the crowd again, and no one stood out to change their bet.
