Eddison placed the box on the passenger seat, and then he told the driver, "Lift up the divider."

In fact, the driver had been wanting to do this to divert his attention. Eddison's expressions were too overwhelming.

 After Caroline got in the car, Eddison looked as if nothing had happened. 

It was as if those negative and intense emotions had vaporized into thin air. He looked calm.

Looking at Caroline with a soft gaze, he patted her on the head and asked, "How's work today? Did anyone upset you?"

Caroline shook her head and said, "Nope."

Eddison caressed her head and they didn't say much later on.

To their surprise, Erastus was waiting for them by the door of their villa. 

Eddison frowned and wrapped an arm around Caroline. Not wanting to have a conversation with Erastus, he didn't even cast a glance at him as they walked past him.
