As Caroline observed Karen's expression, it became clear to her that Karen's words were true.

In the period when she was on leave, Karen had probably volunteered to take over her job with the pretext of giving Caroline some time off to relax. Of course, the boss would allow her to do so out of consideration for Caroline! 

Before Caroline could speak, Jenny, who was beside her, interrupted, "Miss Moore, Caroline has always been in charge of any work related to the Neon brand. Are you sure you're up to the task? I don't think you know which person would be most suited to be the spokesperson for the brand when compared to Caroline!"

Karen snorted as she said rudely, "When your superiors are talking, do you have the right to intervene as a mere employee? Anyway, I am the one who is in full charge of the job now! Miss Simons, if you aren't happy with that, you're welcome to raise this issue to our boss!"
