Chapter 9: 9 the beginning of the end
that night sleeping under the tree Flame had a dream or so she thought it was just a dream.
A young girl who looked to be about 14 years old was running through the trees fleeing from a castle with her was a elderly man he was over 100 years old he was one of the Originals an elder.
The Originals were the first men and women that walked on earth they tended to the plants and animals of their time and were the most respected out of all the People of the Shadows all but one.
The Queen herself was the only one who had more respect from the others even the Elders bowed to her for she wasn't born of normal means not through evolution like the elders or by having a mother and father like the following generations but she herself was born of the earth when the fires from down under came to the surface and mixed with the earth turning into a egg like shape that stone rolled down the mountain and fell off a cliff into the sea then washed upon the shore where a heavy wind blew the dirt off the stone revealing a beautiful Onyx black stone with Ruby red veins covering it like spider webs this was before their was life on earth even before the originals.
From that stone like egg hatched a creature its claws tearing through its shell with five sharp Talons black as the night sky and scales dark as Onyx with a shade of ruby red when the light touched the scales then it's head emerged covered in the same scales with horns protruding from the top of its heads between the ears it opened its eyes to reveal two eyes as red and bright as the earths firey core
With wings doubling its body length.
It was a Dragon
As the Girl ran through the trees following the Elder she could hear the screams of her people, her friends she saw them as her children as she saw all of them grow from the time they were born she has even witnessed some of their deaths as they aged over the years she saw them laugh and cry but never did she think that she would hear them scream in agony at a painful death like on this night with every scream and every cry of pain it filled her heart with grief and anger as tears pooled in her eyes but never fell.
She wanted to cry at their loss but couldnt because her anger and hatred for the one who betrayed her was to great.
Tiger had once been a close friend of hers she had trusted him she saw him grow surrounded by love from his parents with his little brother he was a happy child and was once a most loyal member of her people but something changed in his heart.
It made him hunger for more power. He wanted her power to create and destory life with just a thought. He wanted her ability to forsee the future to make it what he wished for. He wanted her crown, her respect, he wanted her immortality. or so she thought
He twisted the minds of half her people they were no longer themselves free to make their own choices now they were Tiger's puppets.
"Are you sure you want to do this your majesty?" the Elder asked as they approached the entrance to a cave
"Yes Elder Oak though it pains me not to fight at their side at this time i forsaw what this night would bring if i fight with them we will all die and Tiger will get what he wants. But by doing this only a few will die the others will live and Tiger will lose." she stood in the middle of a grave that had her name written on it her red gold eyes determined while her heart broke.
"What shall i tell Lord Fang your grace he loves you so much i don't know how he will react."
"Tell my love that he must live to take his immortal life and use it to live to rule over my people in my stead as i would but do not tell him that I do not die this night and that my body shall be reborn this night and sent to the future where i will wait for him." she looked down to hide the tears streaming down her face at this time
"however do tell him that he must keep our memories alive for the both of us. lead my people deep within the Shadow Forest away from Tiger and his puppets the Shadow realm must stay hidden from Tiger, they must hide in plain sight he will understand what I mean." she took out a box she had carried with her inside the box was her crown that held half her power in it "hide this under the grave elder oak bury it beneath the coffin then turn the whole ground of this cave into a giant crystal so no force can dig it up" and with this she layed still in the coffin next to the grave and signaled to the Elder to begin the spell to make her body like a baby's and send her body through time to the future.
the spell was in Dragons tongue and forbidden to write down she taught it to Elder Oak just for this very moment
Her body shrunk into a sleeping newborn baby her memories locked away within her and slowly her body started to fade away in a ball of light then she was completely gone. leaving behind just the clothes she had been wearing
Flame woke up with a splitting headache when she felt something heavy and warm on her.
She looked down at it took her a moment to realize that the thing on her was a wolf a very very very big black wolf.
It stared at her with its honey golden eyes piercing her own firey gold eyes. He didnt seem to want to harm her in anyway as he just layed their watching her as if she was a cub needing protecting. even laying down the wolf was bigger then her he couldn't probably swallow her whole but she knew he wouldn't
She felt as if the wolf was familiar to her but she didn't know how or why she felt that way.
"Excuse me Mr. Wolf would you mind pointing me back towards the city? I'm a bit lost and meed to get back to the Orphanage." she laughed "I must be silly to think you could understand me let alone help me your just a wolf."
The wolf seemed to take offense at this as he quickly stood up and begun walking away.
"hmm?" Flame watched him silently.
He stopped walking and turned back towards her laying on his stomach and motioned for her to get on his back.
She was surprised but got on anyway after all if Panthers could talk why can't a wolf as large as this one not know where the Town is let alone the Orphanage.
