Chapter 66: Something is Wrong..

Zero, Kai, and Grimm were able to find a roughly carved staircase that led from the chamber they fell into all the way back to the surface. It was a tight squeeze for Grimm but they were able to manage. 

They decided to take a breather in the grassy knoll that the staircase spit them out at. 

"Talk about an interesting design.." Kai flipped the key over in his hand as he studied it. "So you just snagged it out of a wooden box?"

"Yep, that's about it." Zero replied. He was more occupied with creating new concoctions with his Culinary System than about the events that went on in the chamber. 

"So about that boss," Kai continued, "what exactly-"

"Check this out!" Zero exclaimed. He held out a bowl of beef stew that had no actual effect to it.

Kai raised an eyebrow. "What about it?"

"I mean...are you guys not hungry? Because I'm starving." Zero started to dig into his newly prepared dish. "Oh my Gods this is delicious."

"Right..."
