Chapter 80: Running

There was no point to waiting about any longer. The bus had already driven away, roaring until it turned at a corner down the familiar street and disappeared out of sight. The people that had alighted were gone as well. It was a ten minute walk to the place Histoire had once considered her home, and Jotham still had no idea of what was approaching. She had in mind to surprise him but felt ambivalent about that at the moment. After all, she did not feel ready to leave the bus stop just yet. She was waiting for Fiend to return, but he had already left in a direction unknown to her. She doubted he had walked away; the highest possibility was that he disappeared on the spot after she had lost sight of him.
