Chapter 15: Human Nature

Because Histoire's designated location was an mere fifteen minutes away from the campus, excluding the time it took to walk through the grounds, she did not have the time nor the need to call Jotham to ask him to drive her there. She preferred to keep the agenda a secret until she could surprise him with the development later. Weeks went by without any appealing news and she finally received an invitation via e-mail from an editor of a small magazine.

It was not anything extraordinary, but most projects or careers that were considered as such began as foundationally insignificant. The slightly intriguing part of the offer was that Histoire had to make her appearance in less than an hour for an interview that was decided at the last minute.

The one probable explanation she could think of was that a model could not make the photo shoot and the now deserted slot was offered to her, if she was punctual.
