"What do you mean, Your Majesty? The mating ceremony was meant to solidify the union between you and Lady Althea. Are you certain about this decision?"

Darian's gaze was unwavering as he responded, "I am certain. The circumstances have changed, and priorities must shift accordingly."

Cassandra, standing by Darian's side, observed the exchange with a subtle intensity. Valentine, ever loyal, awaited further instructions.

Ladia, however, wasn't one to easily accept change. "Your Majesty, the dark fae won't take kindly to such a reversal. The consequences could be severe."
