Aurora's face turned red from the blush that crept up her cheeks. Her eyes widened, and she quickly pulled away from her father's lap, sitting up abruptly. "Father!" she exclaimed, her voice slightly raised, feeling embarrassed. Her cheeks burned, and she tried to cover her face, even though it was hidden by the darkness of the night.
"So it is Adrian?" her father observed, a knowing tone in his voice. "He's a fine young man," he said with a shrug of his shoulder.
Aurora shook her head vigorously, "Of course, it's not him." She whispered, but a smile crept in the corner of her lips.
John chuckled, a lightness in his tone. "I have seen the look on your face when you talk about him or speak with him. It's quite obvious, no need to feel embarrassed. I was also a handsome young lad. How do you think your mother fell in love with me?" he teased, a playful glint in his eyes.
