The little Liquids formed groups with the biggest group being a lump of golden liquid floating to the side. Other colored liquids floated to the side in smaller groups. Xasha let the flames burn those smaller groups into oblivion. He didn't need them for this artifact.
He tossed two more Meolite nuggets into the fire and followed the same procedure. His flame control and timing were on point. Xasha moved the first clump of golden liquid into the white flame. Immediately, black smoke began inside from the golden liquid. The smoke was pungent as if something had died inside the furnace.
Xasha had to block his breathing to avoid the smell. This was foolish because his breath was the thing that kept his concentration and the metal was over-purified and became brittle. Xasha tossed that aside, his first failure.
