A sword ray from the mantis queen clove the seemingly unstoppable river in two. The queen squealed in frustration as her 'children' died. All Xasha could hear was his eardrums ringing like a bell. He and Shay covered their ears and flinched in pain. Xasha didn't have time to worry about his bleeding ears when he saw the queen, who was over thirty meters tall, disappear from her original spot, and materialized before him with a blade aiming at his neck.

Xasha fumbled to activate the Flowing Sword Art once again, but all he got in return was a backlash causing him to spit up black blood. His mind and body went numb as he watched the Mantis Queen's bladed hand inching closer to his neck. The blade sliced through the air, and all Xasha saw a bright white light. It felt like he'd been transferred to another world, a dead, bland, white world with no end in sight.
