Chapter 58: Totally Messed Up

Jace's POV

"Jace!" My mom screamed when she saw me standing on our porch, then she runs to me and I embraced my mother.

"Why didn't you text or call me?" She asked and looked at me earnestly.

"Mom! I missed you so much, and I am sorry I didn't come and visit you." I responded, and I tried to avoid her gaze.

"What is wrong, son? I can see you are sad." She said, and she dragged me inside the house.

"You better eat first, Jace I can tell you are starving." She added.

"Thanks, mom!" I replied, and I followed her to the dining area. I can perceive nothing changes since the last time I visited my mom's place. She served the food and I dig in, I am so full after finished eating, I ever love my mother's cooking.

"Jace? Can you tell me now what is going on, I felt you wouldn't be here now since I know your job keeps you so busy?" My mom said after we settled in the living room.

"Can I stay for the night mom?" I asked.
