Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Being in the spotlight

The next day, Lianne woke up in a foul mood. Her nightmares were back. Just great, it was just what she needed to add to everything else. Just when she thought they were gone, here they were like uninvited guests she couldn't get rid of. She stood up from her bed planning to prepare for the day when she felt a sudden headache. 'Perfect just the perfect icing she needed' Lianne muttered before going to the bathroom to prepare for the day. She got dressed and came down. The guys were practicing for their match in the afternoon. She wasn't in the mood for any interaction with anybody, so rather than pass through the gaming room which acted as the central room, she passed through the dining and got herself a bottle of cold water and downed it all at once before returning back to her room. She laid  on her bed and slept off but she didn't have any nightmares this time."Lianne" Jordy's calm voice woke her up from her peaceful sleep.  She furrowed her brows before opening her eyes to see Jordy's eyes staring at hers. She noticed the worry laced in his brows."Hmm" Lianne answered before she remembered that Zac had told them that they would go to the arena in the morning because he wanted them to watch the match. She groaned tiredly  before getting up from the bed. "Are you okay?" Jordy asked and Lianne hummed in response. She hoped that the day wouldn't get any worse but fate had a lot more in store for her.They walked out of the room and the guys saw how tired she was and just shared a short greeting. She got to her seat in the bus and slumped down tiredly on it before shutting her eyes. They got to the arena few minutes later and Lianne was the last to get down from the bus. She had planned to ignore the reporters but a question made her stop right in her tracks."Mulan, is it true that you chased your mom from your base" one of the reporters asked. She ignored it and walked away angrily. "Have you checked the Internet? E-sport fans are going about with that news" Dami said answering the question that kept lingering in her mind 'How did they know'.Lianne left the room trying her best not to bang the door or punch anything. She walked to the last stall in the female restroom and sat down on the cold tiles. She folded her arms on her knees and bent her head in it and cried. Few minutes later, she heard the restroom opening and a lady's voice was heard followed by a voice she dreaded to hear. She listened keenly to their discussion as her eyes which were filled with tears earlier where now blazing with rage and fury. If not for the little thread of rationality she had left, she would walked out and beaten them up.After ensuring they had left, she walked out and rinsed her face before walking out of the restroom back to the room. She sat on the couch and leaned her head on the top of the couch after putting on her headphones."Jordy were you able to find out who is behind the news on the internet" Xavy asked in a hushed whisper. They had seen Jordy trying to hack the persons account earlier."Yes" Jordy replied simply but before he could  say who it is there was a knock placed on the door and a lady walked in with a sultry smile. "Hi guys. You still remember me tight? I'm jade." Jade introduced."You should leave before she finds out you're here" Jordy said and right at that time, Lianne stood up and came eye to eye with jade. She ignored her presence and was about walking past her when Jade grabbed her arm and said in an arrogant tone "is that how you treat your best friend?""Ex best friend" Lianne corrected before snatching her hand back. "Last time I remember, you tried drugging me. I don't think your fans would like to know that now, would they?" Lianne taunted. She wasn't going to give jade the satisfaction of seeing her angry. "Is that a threat?" Jade asked with a fiery gaze."That depends on how you see it." Lianne said with an evil smirk. "Don't you at least want to know how that news got online?" jade asked with a smirk of her own.
