Chapter 75: Case Investigation

Evelyn awoke with vigour and began her day. She didn't want her teammates in the council to lose motivation as a result of her dismal demeanour. Earl had agreed to drop her off at the council as usual. It was the very next day Mr Saemus came for the investigation.

She was a little relieved that Elric hadn't seen her in the gloomy state. She tried to put on a brave face in front of him. There was a niggling feeling in her head that he hadn't come to meet her or investigate the case on his own. Nevertheless, she brushed it off thinking he might have some major work as Mr Saemus said.

Entering his cabin, she glanced around but no one was there. She checked the time if she was early and found that she was on time. She wondered if they left for the investigation.

Strolling towards the door, she extended her hand to turn the knob. Before she could reach it, the door opened with the click sound of the knob. She lifted her gaze to see Elric entering the cabin.
