Chapter 173: The End

Cassian paused. He stared at her and then at Nicholas when his eyes hardened.

Mary did not notice the change on his face, she rolled her eyes and jabbed Nicholas on his chest.

"I am your lover, not your slave. I can decide my friends." Friends! The word flinched Cassian again. He felt his gut churning.

Did she not leave to help his majesty heal? When did they come close enough to call each other by their first names or when they started to look at each other with such a tender gaze?

"There is nothing called friends between opposite gender. You would not realize when he would start wooing you." Nicholas' lips twisted into a teasing smile as he wrapped his hands around her waist and pulled her behind him.

"So, it would be better that I protect you from now." She shook her head and laughed, feeling his flirtatious gaze.

She had never thought that she would see Nicholas smiling like that. Did it mean that she had changed their fate?
