Chapter 3: Accepting quest
Adam pov
It's been five days since I joined the guild and the money I stole from people on the train has run out, I need to go on a quest being an orphan teaches you a thing or two about pickpocketing.
I walked into the main hall of the guild and was assaulted by the chattering of the members as well as the strong smell of alcohol, no wonder Cana turned into an alcoholic growing up around these people.
I walked up to the board and started reading the quests there was one that requested a mage to get rid of some wild boars that were bothering the inhabitants of a village near their territory. There was also one that requested protection whilst travelling it was due to start in two days decided that I would do both of them as the more money I have the sooner I can find a place to sleep that isn't the guild sofa.
I walked up to the old man and he greeted me with his usual smile that was always on his face.
Makarov: " what's this little Adam already starting to go on quests huh the sofa is not to your liking I take it".
Adam: " what noooo the sofa is just great absolutely great it's perfect as a matter of fact "
Makarov: " good now Im sorry but I can't let you go on this quest, Adam"
Adam: " come again"
Makarov: " I haven't seen what you are capable of so until I'm certain you can handle these types of dangerous quests. I can't let you go my child there is a quest board in the back that has quests for new members. why don't you try them, my child ".
Adam, so it's like naruto I'm a fresh genin so I can only do D-rank missions but luckily for me the Chunin exams are right around the corner I begin to speak to the old man " so what do I need to do to prove to you that I can take on those quests now"
He puts his hand on his chin and stricks the classic thinker pose and then responds to my inquiry: " okay how about this if you can move me with your spell I will let you go on these quests "
Adam: " move you "
Makarov: " hit me with your strongest magic spell and if it causes me to move I will let you go on these quests, don't worry I can take it "
Of course, you can take it you're like the fifth strongest wizard saint I couldn't cause you to blink let alone move you but I can't do those D-rank missions I would rather die than be caught cleaning some old lady's toilet so moving you it is.
Adam:" I'll do it" smiling Makarov jumps off the table and begins to walk outside I follow him along with a lot of other members of the guild who want to see the action.
We are in the grassy area behind the guild and the old man stands five meters adjacent to me he then smiles and speaks " alright any time now Adam whilst I'm still young " knowing I can't move him by force I need to get creative getting into position I put my hand outwards and wiggle my fingers and chant: " ALL MIGHTY PUSH ".
God gravity magic was fun my magic tore through the entire field ripping apart and up rooting large parts of the ground it also sent the trees around the field flying into the air kicking up a huge dust cloud as it cleared the master stood there not even a scratch on him he stood there smiling and began to speak "as Impressive as that was Adam you have not moved me "
Smiling I tell him " who said im finished " just then I lift up my hand and the master flies from his spot and lands three meters from his previous position. I stand there smirking.
Makarov begins to laugh and smack his knee as he says " cutting the ground beneath me and then pushing that ground up and backwards to move me was a truly genius move Adam. But how did you cut the ground I thought you only knew gravity magic "
I can understand how he might have thought that seeing as I'm using it constantly to have a permanent gravity chamber around me so he has not seen my other magic and I haven't even talked about it so one would think I only know one type of magic I answer his question " it was spatial dragon slayer magic " his eyes brighten at that as he speaks " Dragon slayer magic huh very interesting, you have proved you can go on quests so I will let you go know Adam "
