Chapter 2: The Tinnitus - Mike's POV

He was moved from the emergency room to the VIP ward, where he could get his privacy stated by his wife.

A piece of suspense music plays changing his mood of Mike, triggering his fear of not knowing how things are working... Lost in thought, remembering the time he spent with Nodle, emotionally troubled to hear a friend he saw a few hours, been dead.

He lands in tears of how a friend he met yesterday just passed away from a pitch of noise.

"Everything seems suspicious enunciated Mike. His loving wife, Evy walked in with smiles brightening her face.

She thought"Does he find these suspicious?", she continued by saying"Mike, I requested for a doctor to examine you since you have undergone emergency treatment."

Mike lying on the bed staring at Evy mysteriously—wiped the tears flowing from his eyes as if he had been chopping onions.

Doctor Natasha knocked on the door, and asked if she could come in…

I laughed with pain and let out" Why not, I'm just a poor patient on a sickbed."

She laughed back and came inside to my bed and checked my forehead…

Evy stands to see what she's up to.

"Gosh ! You doctors and your work she exclaimed".

She continued with the question: How long have you been experiencing this noise?

Is it something serious, does he need an emergency? Asked Evy who was panting out of fear, thinking I would be sent to the operation theatre.

Doctor Natasha explained further to understand Evy… "He's suffering from, Tinnitus can be caused by several things, including broken or damaged hair cells in the part of the ear that receives sound (cochlea); changes in how blood moves through nearby blood vessels (carotid artery); problems with the joint of the jaw bone, that's the temporomandibular joint. I broke out of laughter, making Natasha and Evy wonder, then I broke out of laughter again and said "Natasha, she has no idea of what you are blubbering about, gosh, she's not into the medical field". I pulled her by my side and comforted her that I was okay as the doctor said it was Tinnitus. She hugged me with much affection but that didn't get my suspicion away, I kept wondering if the one the person talked about was my wife, the thoughts of how loving, kind-hearted, and warm person she was.

The days passed with longer days and shorter nights, and I was discharged from the hospital sooner than the medical practitioners imagined. They were all overwhelmed by my speediest recovery. After we got home, Evy and I got to our house. I decided to stay home for a while. That's what I told Evy just to let her know I'm keeping things cool and thus my behavior at the hospital was sort of a traumatic event. That morning, she informed me of visiting her parents' house and would be in the next day, thankfully it was on weekdays when I could get my suspicions settled. I escorted her safely to get the cab until she set off. I remained at home for a while and phoned Doctor Lisa.

As she answered the phone she was excited to hear my voice and begged not to be able to visit me while admitted to the hospital." Hey, buddy, so sorry. My schedule was packed, you know what I mean right" happily enunciated by Lisa. We had a small conversation and then set the journey to the hospital where Doctor Lisa works.

The office of Lisa was like a hotel room, with full air-conditioning, beautiful flowers in their vases given fresh air, and nice colors to fit mental health, everything was exactly on point. I was moving from one place to the other to feel the room. She made me lie down and asked me to follow the movement of the coined necklace as it moved left, right, left, right, straight, left. I continuously went with the flow. I went deep into my memory, "They were laughing as if they were having a good time, I wondered if it's their hobby, hearing them clinking their glasses".

She asked, ``What's their hobby, what are they doing, try to see them, remember they might see you are peeping on them just be careful". I sigh and exhale loudly and it seems I'm being blindfolded, the door squeaked, it was quiet all the way and I only heard the car moving.

Suddenly, I could hear long chitties all the way, gosh They are such a parrot in a narrow room, I murmured, It seemed like the place was surrounded by scientists cause I could smell all kinds of chemicals and medicine. My heart was pounding very fast, I was silent for a minute, feeling chills.

Lisa tapped my chest continuously saying I should get out of there and that it was all a dream. I opened my teary eyes, and she smiled and said"What a crybaby". I had no idea what had happened cause all I remember was having a nightmare on this cozy morning… Lisa then pulled her chair to face me and said"Hey bro! What if it's something that happened, there's no way you got into an accident— I mean you got into it but you aren't even sure of how it happened, you said you visited me three days ago, to be frank, I thought you are a lunatic but to how you didn't complain of treating you and you didn't even remember how Nodle died is a mystery" I chortled, shook my head, Lisa can't you tell that I'm a total lunatic, gosh! No one believed me but you do— I was told I got into an accident and healed mysteriously. I stood, walked to the window side, and murmured The weather is so cozy Sigh!

Life is complicated just like a poem.

"You ought to find the meaning of all when you have no idea at all.

You get the beginning wrong the end might be a mess too or the end might be correct". "Are you saying a poem in this situation" says Lisa —I replied by saying"Well, it's just that I'm inside a puzzle and need to take measures initiating from how and when I got kidnapped".
