Chapter 19: Her Suspicion

As Maisie stopped him, Zachary turned his cold gaze towards her. "What? Did I say something wrong?"

"No," Maisie shook her head. "Someone recognized you, and I think it's best not to make a fuss about this. We don't want it to affect you in the long run."

Thinking about his sudden illness and how everything went haywire so quickly, Zachary finally agreed with Maisie's words and didn't say anything further.

"Take the medicine first, I have something to say to you alone," Maisie said, gesturing with her eyes for Daniel to pack up the herbs.

Daniel quickly complied, packing up the herbs neatly and handing them over with respect. 

Maisie took them and spoke in a low voice. "I don't know how many times you've made this mistake, but I hope this is the last time. You must promise me, or I will hold you responsible."

Daniel stared at her in surprise, his eyes. widening.
