Chapter 308: Worries

Seeing Ava's firm attitude, Nathan didn't say anything more and silently sighed. It seemed all his previous efforts were in vain. If he had known this would happen, he wouldn't have gone through so much trouble. Now he felt like he had lost both the game and the prize.

Meanwhile, Ava had already dialed Zoe's number. "Zoe, I can go to work with you again tomorrow."

"Really?" Zoe sounded surprised but then her tone turned somber. "Given your current situation, how long can you actually work? Don't get my hopes up."

"This time I promise it will be longer than the last two times," Ava declared confidently. She was genuinely happy to return to work.

"But what about Ryan if you start working again? You left before because you couldn't leave him alone. Are you coming back because Nathan upset you?"
