"Ava, it seems like you've gained a bit of weight lately."
Nathan looked at Ava, nestled on the couch and munching on fruit with her cheeks puffed up, feeling a sense of pride. After all, he'd been meticulously feeding her day by day.
Ava rolled her eyes at Nathan, retorting with a hint of annoyance. "Is this the best conversation topic you could come up with?"
"I'm serious. Your complexion looks much better than before. You hardly wear makeup, so it's easy to tell," Nathan responded earnestly.
Ava placed the fruit platter on the table, visibly exasperated. "It's all your fault. You're always dragging me out for dinner every night. How can I not gain weight? That's it. I have to go on a diet. As a successful career woman, I need to maintain my figure."
Nathan smiled as he gently patted her cheek. "No need for that. You look just right."
