Chapter 289: Compromise

After everything that had happened, Ava realized that going head-to-head with Nathan would almost certainly result in her losing. Despite her frustration and anger, she knew she had no other choice.

Even if she stayed at home for now, she believed that with time, she could eventually persuade Nathan to let her return to her job.

With this thought, Ava calmed down. "Fine, I agree, but I hope you'll keep your word."

Having said that, Ava quickly turned and left the study, not wanting to stay in such a vexing place any longer.

The next day, Ava still went to the studio because there were many things that required her attention. Plus, it would prevent any suspicion.

Ava didn't tell Zoe that Nathan caused this crisis, fearing it would make her uncomfortable. After all, such news would sound unbelievable to anyone.
