It had come as a shock when everyone heard that Zhang Jiren suddenly resigned. No one knew his reasons but as the rumors about him being on his deathbed spread, it made sense why he made a sudden departure from Zhang Corporation. 

However, none of them knew that it was all part of Zhang Jiren and Feng Tianyi's plans. Zhang Jiren had to leave the company for Zhang Liang to take his spot. Knowing Zhang Liang's past misdeeds, the two had expected that he would embezzle that company's resources to pay off his debts to several people.
