When Elaine Wu woke up due to Ye Xiaozu's call that morning, she was surprised that he wanted to meet her that afternoon. True, they weren't really lovers in the first place, but they'd been engaged through marriage arrangements by their families for almost three years now. 

Since Elaine met Ye Xiaozu, she'd always wondered why he had acted the way he did. She had heard several bad rumors about Ye Xiaoting, his father, but Ye Xiaozu had never shown any interest to confide anything with her. 

Even before their engagement, there were gossips about him being a womanizer, but once their engagement had been set, Ye Xiaozu was never seen with another woman by his side, except for her.
