"Father knew that I was out and he did not ask me to stop you?" she tilted her head and stared at Reynold as if she was piercing his soul from her gaze but he nodded his head without a hesitation that confused the girl.

Why would her father do so? Sometimes he really confuses her because of his behavior.

"last time when you asked me to come with you in helping lady Penny. He had told me to accompany you anywhere you want to go and make sure to keep you safe.

Though she was confused about the actions of her father, she was sure that he didn't love her.

She kept her silence as she nodded her head softly and looked away. 

"And he would be very happy that you have picked up a gift for him. He was so happy when you sent a pie to him last time that he only ate pie for dinner.
