At the sight of the enormous animal, Eve stopped in her tracks. She turned towards Victor in astonishment. "Is this the same..?"
"Yes." He nodded, disbelief written in his wide-open eyes. "I've felt his thoughts when we approached, but I wasn't sure until now. He has the same presence."
Eve nodded. She could feel it, too. She doubted there were many other level six bears in the area. "It's like he waited for your return."
Beistand stopped the car and turned off the engine. The approach of the vehicle caused the bear's eyes to open. He blinked drowsily before standing on his all fours and staring towards the car. A moment later, he unhurriedly throttled closer.
With a trust that Victor will stop her or the bear if he decides to attack her, Eve exited the car. Victor mirrored her movements from another side, and Eve saw the bear immediately turning towards him.
This story slowly approaches its end. I'd say, about twenty more chapters.
A small amount, yet big. Time to tie up all the loose ends.
