Eve read the block of code again, but her thoughts couldn't stick to it. There was just so much to worry about: Nexus, the Third Eye, an army of zombies under their walls, the current state of Radiant Base's siege. How were Celina and Xia doing? Eve didn't see them since everything started.
She hoped they were safe, but her stomach churned with worry. She wished she could attack Nexus immediately, and was afraid of it, too. No matter Eve's desires, though, until all the modified cores were ready, the cyber-attack won't start.
Right now, Eve's assistants and underlings were working on installing necessary programs on all of them. The estimated time to finish the task they gave her was six hours, and the closer Eve was to the end of that time, the more nervous she was.
How many people would die if she failed?
Woohoo! EotD celebrates its 100th chapter today! Or at least I do, because, damn. This is a first for me, but not the last, I sure hope!
