“Okay. Jeeze. Relax. Oh, by the way, Aurelius here is—”

“I can speak for myself, Moira.”

“Fine. Have it your way,” Moira drawled while chuckling in amusement.

He felt rooted on the spot as the other man had turned to him with a piercing gaze.

“Good evening, Dylan. My name is Aurelius Chatzis and I’m a vampire. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

Was this man serious? The vampire sounded so…well, old. Regardless, good manners required him to return the greeting. Unfortunately, his mouth went a different route altogether.

“A vampire?” he blurted and winced immediately after.

“Yeah. Why?”

He grimaced a little at the vampire’s defensive tone.

“Well, you…you don’t look like one.”

“Huh.”

“I mean, you’re too…hairy.”

Moira’s beautiful laughter startled him once again. The tension in the room was also greatly reduced. He really liked this woman. Well, siren.
