Due to the state of his health, Tsueno Mamoru has been sticking to fighting behind the scenes and hasn't appeared before Ria or anyone else in the girls circle for too long. So, to see him here off all places surprises him.

 "We need to talk, Ren."

Or maybe it doesn't. 'I knew eventually Mamoru would hear off the situation between me and Ria. After all Mashima has made it clear on more than occasion that he doesn't approve, and who can blame him? I am forcing myself on her, when I know she doesn't want me. I'm making her betray Terashima. I'm adding more sins to her name, sins she didn't ask for.'

"It's been a while, I know, Mamoru." Ren responded casually, hoping it would put him off hitting him.

"Please be serious." Mamoru grabs him and stares directly at his face.
