[Adele's POV]
"I don't know what let you say that but know this, a person worth is not determined by the talent he possesses. And I and Young Miss Sylvie will always love you no matter what." I said seeing that Alex is worried about his talent.
I tightly hugged him not wanting him to ever feel that he is alone or lonely. Seeing that he took a deep breath and exhaled as if releasing the tension that he had been holding in—to which I slowly patted his head.
When Madam Laura died, I took it in my hand to raise both Young Miss Sylvie and Young Master Alex as I know, If I don't take care of them some unforeseen "accidents" can happen to them, just like what happened to Madam Laura.
Even If the report says that what happened to Madam Laura was an accident—I know the truth, as a trained maid and guard that was sent by the Greenwood family to protect Madam Laura, I only needed a peek at the crime scene to confirm that it was not an accident but it was a well-planned assassin.
But without any evidence, we can't do anything, and knowing the death of Madam Laura, Young Miss Sylvie was devastated because Young Master Alex was small at that time so he wasn't that shocked to hear the death of his mother.
At that time I swear to protect both of them, as it is also part of my mistake that their mother died, but it seems I failed to uphold my words.
I knew that both Andrew—Elder Step-Brother of Alex—and Tina—Little Step-sister of Alex—often bully Alex, and I was the one who saved him from them.
I couldn't do that the last time as I was called by the family head—Lucas Flameborn—even if I hated him for ignoring his children and giving Lisa the power within the family just after his wife just died.
I can't ignore his call as he is the head of the family and if I am given any reason he can kick me out of the house the only reason he didn't do that till now is because of the Greenwood family and the Northern Duke family.
After I returned, What I witnessed was the blood-covered Alex who was laying on the ground unconsciously as his head was bleeding with a small cut mark all over his body.
On to the side was Andrew who was laughing at Alex while saying 'You deserve to be trash with no talent.'
If he was not the son of the bitch, Lisa. I would have smashed his head to the ground like a watermelon for doing this to his brother.
No doubt that incident may cause him some trauma because after that incident he looked like a changed person and even though I was weirdly attracted to him after his change, it looked the same for Sylvie too as she is often clingy with him. She even sneaky sniff him without anyone noticing.
Alex even went to the library just after a week—his injury just barely healed—and searched for all books related to the Flameborn family and Talents.
He must have thought that he would be alone if don't do anything about his talent.
The name of his talent is [Unity], which is unheard of till now and even the talent rank is unknown as the priest at the church was unable to find it. And the effect of the talent is also unknown, even Alex himself doesn't know how to use it.
When his father—Lucas—asked Alex how to make use of his talent Alex said something about the "Capture target" or something like that.
Because nobody knows what a "Capture target" is everybody is convinced that it was a talent with no applicable effect, and in a family with a long history of magic users, a talent that doesn't have any effect is an insult to the family—or so they say.
From that moment he was submitted to restless abuse by both his Step-Mother—Lisa—And Step-Brother—Andrew. And because Sylvie is a prodigy with two talents—[Prodigy] and [Blessing of Flame]—she is not subjected to bullying as if something happened to her the family will lose its face in noble society if something were to happen to the firstborn.
So all their hate is directed at Alex, who is useless without any useful talent. And Sylvie doesn't know about anything that was happening in this family. Even Alex doesn't tell her anything.
"Adele, can you release me." Suddenly interrupting Adele thought Alex struggled in her blossom as if asking her to release him from the hug.
