Chapter 41: Retribution

I seized the moment and immediately attacked the remaining tribesmen. They were still reeling from the shock of my speed, so I pressed my advantage before they could recover. With swift movements, I pierced them with my spear, and it wasn't long before they were all dead.

After finishing them off, I dragged their bodies to a more secluded spot and began my ritual. Using my knife, I carved strange marks on their bodies, following the instructions Hades had given me.

This time, something different happened. As I started the ritual, my body began to tremble, and my vision blurred. The veins in my body bulged and turned completely black, as if my blood were transforming into something other than human.

Was this one of the first adverse effects of using the ritual? I had no idea, but it didn't stop me from completing it. When I finished, I noticed that I had gained more points in some attributes.
