Sammy looked at him lost for words. Did he think she had spent the night with him knowing exactly who he was hoping to score some favors?

"I am not the type of girl who sleeps her way to the top nor do I run from my problems. If you allow me to stay, I will. And I will let you know that I am not banking on a meaningless one-night stand to guarantee me a spot in your company," Sammy snapped back.

This time Leo's eyebrow shot up in surprise. Sammy knew calling the night 'meaningless' would chip away at his ego.

As quickly as the look of hurt and shock crossed his features, it vanished.

"Then that is great, Miss Jackson, to know that we are on the same page. We shouldn't dwell on a meaningless hookup that probably wouldn't have to happen if we were both sober and in our right senses."
