Chapter 28: Liora's Birthday Celebration (2)

Princess Elena stood frozen, her mouth slightly agape, as the Carval family appeared on the grand staircase connecting the main hall to the upper floor. Each step they took seemed designed to captivate the guests, with their attire becoming the centerpiece of admiration. Soft murmurs began to ripple through the gathered nobles, each voice offering praise for the splendor before them.

Liora was the star of the evening, and her "Mermaid Princess" gown truly embodied the title. The dress exuded elegance and majesty, its high collar perfectly framing Liora's youthful, radiant face. The gown, made of smooth, dark purple silk, seemed as if she were cloaked in a starry night sky. Layers of silver and light purple lace at the hem swayed gracefully with her every step, creating the illusion of gently rolling waves.

A golden ribbon encircled her waist, adding the final touch of perfection to the gown's design. Tiny crystal embellishments sparkled along the bodice and waist, casting a magical effect—like starlight reflected on water. Elena was entranced, finding it hard to tear her gaze away from the youngest Carval daughter.

"That dress… it's like something out of a fairytale," Elena murmured, barely aware she had spoken aloud.

Beside Liora was Eldric, the Carval family heir, dressed in a suit similar to Roland's but in black, which added an air of authority and sophistication. Elena noted the flawless cut of the suit, observing how every detail had been crafted with precision. The black fabric contrasted strikingly with Eldric's silver hair, making him appear as a commanding yet enchanting figure.

On the other side stood Myra, Eldric's wife, complementing Liora in a gown identical in design but in a serene blue that matched her captivating eyes. The hue radiated tranquility, adding a touch of gentleness and strength to Myra's presence. Their coordinated attire seemed like a visual declaration of the beauty and harmony within the Carval family.

The spotlight didn't end there. Elena's attention was drawn to Lumi, the six-year-old daughter of Eldric and Myra, who wore a golden yellow Tutu Baby Doll dress. The gown was simple yet utterly adorable, with layers of fine tulle forming a bell-shaped skirt. A soft shimmer in the fabric created the effect of sunlight glistening on morning dew. Her neatly braided hair was adorned with small golden ribbons, completing her cheerful and sweet appearance.

"Oh my, look at that dress. Is it handmade? The details are extraordinary," whispered a noblewoman, her eyes fixed on Liora in her "Mermaid Princess" gown.

"Look at Duchess Myra—she matches so perfectly with Lady Liora. Such a flawless blend of beauty and elegance," murmured another noble, her voice filled with admiration.

"And Lady Lumi… she's like a little angel descended from heaven," added a middle-aged woman with heartfelt awe.

Most of the attention, however, remained on Liora, who gracefully descended the staircase. Elena felt as though the air had left her lungs. Liora's gown wasn't just stunning—it carried an air of mystery that seemed to compel everyone to admire her without reservation.

Elena turned to Roland, who stood beside her with a faint smile. "Roland, I must know… will that gown be available at The Carval Collective as well?" she asked, her voice brimming with curiosity and hope.

Roland answered with his usual courteous tone, maintaining his dignified demeanor. "Yes, Princess Elena. The gown my sister is wearing is one of 50 limited-edition pieces, released alongside the suit I'm wearing tonight. Lumi's dress is also part of the same collection, with a similar limited stock."

Elena could barely hide her surprise. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Roland, her expression pleading. "Alright, Roland. The ties between our families have always been strong. I'd like to order that gown for myself. Surely it's still available?"

Her request was so earnest that she felt as though all her existing dresses paled in comparison after seeing this one. Her thoughts raced, imagining herself wearing such a masterpiece. How could she possibly live without owning one?

Roland suppressed a small smile, clearly understanding Elena's deep desire. "I'm confident we can arrange that for you, Princess Elena. Given the limited quantity, I'll ensure you have priority access as a sign of respect for the Wisegard royal family."

Roland's words brought immense relief to Elena. She smiled brightly, though her eyes remained fixed on Liora, who was now surrounded by guests showering her with praise.

"Thank you, Roland," Elena said sincerely. "I think this is one of the most beautiful gowns I've ever seen in my life. I'll look forward to wearing it immensely."

Roland returned her smile politely. "We are honored that you find it so enchanting, Princess Elena. Our father will be delighted to hear that one of his designs has earned such high praise."

Elena nodded softly, her thoughts still consumed by the "Mermaid Princess" gown. She didn't know how, but she was determined that this dress had to be hers. That evening, her admiration for the Carval family deepened—not just for their fashion but for the way they brought a beauty that seemed to transcend reality.
