The hubbub of noises had caused chaos, spreading across the crowd.
There were some masters among the crowd who indulged in eloquent talks in a high sounding way. As all of them possessed spiritual power, their voices had certainly become unusually loud.
One of the loudest ones had to be Gu Tianyi. "Embarrassing! This is too embarrassing! She has humiliated the General. Just because she possesses some medical knowledge, she's then completely forgotten her useless worth. She even dared to impersonate the chosen disciple - how shameless. We, from the General Residence, are ashamed of her!"
"Haha. Exactly, this is hilarious. I wondered how powerful she could be, but she's turned out to be merely mediocre." Some of the people agreed almost instantly.
"The idiot who dreamed of reaching the sky in a single bound has now been completely exposed with her true colors. An idiot will always be an idiot, anywhere, anytime…"The crowd continued.
"Her medical skill could also be fake. It was probably sheer luck that she managed to even cure the sick boy that one time."
"Exactly, her medical skill must be totally incomparable to the Tianwen saint. That time was probably just a lucky coincidence."
"Sigh, as the saying goes, empty cans make the loudest noise. She’s really ugly and empty…"
All kinds of nasty and vicious comments started to surface from the crowd; loud enough to be heard from the stage.
Di Fuyi could hear them, so could Gu Xijiu.
Being mocked publicly in such a scornful manner was unbearable.
There was only one way to describe the scenario.
It was as if a celebrity had just been publicly exposed with her scandal and was encircled by the endless flashing lights. She would then be harshly condemned both in speech and in writing. The amount of public pressure must be really devastating.
It was like a spree; a spree of condemnation.
Everyone was like the league of justice, as though they were on a morally higher ground, empowered enough to mock and condemn her, even though the issue had nothing to do with them, even though she might as well be innocent.
Di Fuyi looked at Gu Xijiu with his eyes half closed. Gu Xijiu puckered her lips, not saying a word. She acted fully at ease as though the public accusation had nothing to do with her. Underneath the sleeves, all she could feel was the coldness at the tip of her fingers.
Di Fuyi raised his hand and signaled the crowd. He uttered, "Silence! Celestial Master Zuo has something more to say!"
His voice was not exceptionally high-pitched, but it was enough to seize the crowd in an instant, lowering all their voices.
The crowd went silent; patiently waiting for Di Fuyi’s next move.
Expectedly, it was time for him to take care of the matters regarding Gu Xijiu.
Leng Xiangyu looked at the stage with her eyes wide open, eagerly waiting for Gu Xijiu to receive the punishment. The punishment was more like a relief for her hatred, so she could finally feel better.
Di Fuyi started speaking. He sounded completely relaxed, "She was not the chosen disciple, but her Kung Fu was in fact extraordinary. She’d absorbed all the rays from the Five-Colored Lightning Snake and she’s now shimmering in seven colors. Doesn't she remind you of anyone?"
The crowd was in a state of confusion.
Only Hua Wuyan and Qian Yueran were hit by a sudden realization.
Qian Yueran said it out loud, "The Lord!"
The words were like a spell that hit the crowd and silence them right away. The square was so quiet that one would easily hear the sound of a pin dropping onto the floor.
Di Fuyi smiled. "Exactly, it is the Lord. Her Kung Fu is deeply related to the Lord," said Di Fuyi, word by word.
His words spread across the square like a ripple. The people were so confused.
It was the Lord.
The idea of the ‘chosen one’ was slightly vague and insubstantial, which made it difficult for most people to understand, but the fact that the Lord was the one true God on earth was something that most people would agree upon.
Gu Xijiu’s Kung Fu was related to the God that was worshiped by thousands of people. This could even prove that she was the disciple of the Lord.
Gu Xijiu was in shock.
She could not understand the relationship between her and the Lord. The closest she had ever got to him was that time she took away the robe from the Lord’s jade statue.
Hua Wuyan’s eyes were wide open. Her question slipped out, "Fuyi, the Lord has never taken on any disciples, and how could she possibly be the one? How did she even come close to being remotely related to the Lord?"
"What I said was that her Kung Fu was related to the Lord; I never said that she was the disciple," said Di Fuyi, softly.
He turned his head towards Gu Xijiu, "Miss Gu, I’d like to know, did you acquire your Kung Fu through your dreams?"
Gu Xijiu had said this before, so she was not going to deny her own words. She nodded in approval, "Yes!"
"Do you remember the appearance of the one who passed on the skills of Kung Fu to you in your dreams? Please describe it with specific details."
"Master, just do as he say! Quick! Quick!" The Firmament Stone was desperately reminding Gu Xijiu in her head.
Certainly, Gu Xijiu would not put herself in yet another difficult situation, so she illustrated the jade statue that she had seen in the cave, "It was with a robe with the patterns of the clouds, the body was towering and magnificent. It had a mask…"
She described it with precise details whether important or trivial, except for the part of the facial features.
Most people at the square had never seen the Lord with their own eyes, so they could not tell if she was really telling the truth. Only Hua Wuyan and Qian Yueran had met the Lord before. After listening to Gu Xijiu’s explanation, they doubted her no further.
It was indeed the Lord who passed on the skills of Kung Fu to her, the one who appeared in a white robe in her dreams. No one would have thought that she would be in the Lord’s good grace and acquire his Kung Fu through her dreams.
Hua Wuyan and Qian Yueran felt surreal about it, as they knew how difficult it was to make contact with the Lord. It was extremely difficult, or almost impossible, to see the Lord even on a regular day. They were, after all, the chosen disciples and were the few of the best in the world. However, the Lord did not take them as his disciples, instead, he only provided them with some advice – ones that might take them years to grasp.
Instead, the lady in front of them had been receiving Kung Fu from the Lord himself through her dreams with his Dream Invasion Power, which had been happening for over a year.
It was no wonder her medical skills were so impressive, driving her to be able to perform special Kung Fu moves that were hard to keep up with. She turned out to have acquired the skills from the invincible Lord.
She could not help to ask Gu Xijiu, "Did the Lord take you as his disciple in your dreams?"
Long Siye had left a bad impression on her as a master. She was therefore uncomfortable with the use of the word ‘master'. She raised her eyebrows and said, "He has only passed on a few Kung Fu skills to me. He didn't mention anything about taking me as his disciple. If you hadn't told me, I wouldn't even know that he was the Lord…"
Di Fuyi threw a look at her. Rays of light gleamed in his eyes.
It seemed like this young lady did not want to acknowledge anyone as her master anymore.
Was it because of Long Siye?
She did not even want to acknowledge the Lord this time around.
On the stage, Mu Feng, Mu Yu, Mu Lei and Mu Dian were trying hard to hold their expressions back. They did not want their master to think that they thought of him as a fool.
Hua Wuyan did not seem to accept the theory, "Fuyi, this is a matter of utmost importance. I think we should seek the Lord for proof."
"Overlord Hua was right, we should seek evidence," said Qian Yueran in approval.
Di Fuyi smiled, "Who should go and seek approval from the Lord?"
Hua Wuyan and Qian Yueran were speechless.
The residence of the Lord was not open to visitors all year round. It was difficult, even for the chosen disciples, to meet him personally, probably not even once in a few years. It was only in times of need that the Lord would personally approach them. It was quite impossible for the chosen disciples to meet the Lord if they visited him on their own initiative. Even if they had made mistakes, they would only be punished by the disciple of the Lord outside the door of the Lord’s residence.
Under such circumstances, one would not have the chance to meet the Lord immediately.
Hua Wuyan looked at Di Fuyi and asked, "Do you have any idea how?"
