Chapter 29: Chapter 29
The first day of the shop went without a hitch and they had a total of 40 customers today. It wasn't a large number but it is a start, Wen is quite sure that he will gain more customers since the medicine he prescribed for them will be beneficial for them.
Word about it is sure to go out and he would also gain a lot more customers due to it. Right now he bid farewell to his two employees before he closed the shop and took a taxi to his apartment. He entered it and then went through the stocks as he bought and sold some of the stuff and gained money from it.
He looked at the laptop as his phone started to ring. He took the call and brought it to his ear as he watched the screen.
"Hello, Chen?" Lin's voice came from the phone.
"Hello miss Lin." Wen greeted back.
"Look, I know that I'm not in any position to ask this but... I really need your help with taking care of Zhang Huan." Lin said in a hesitant voice.
"I see. Well, if we are going to be talking about something like that then we will have to choose a place to talk in person." Wen said to her calmly.
"Oh, well, do you have a place in mind?" Lin asked him when she heard that.
"I would rather leave it to you. I don't have any particular thoughts about it so you're free to choose." Wen said to her as he closed the website.
"Okay then. I will send you the location of the place tomorrow by message. Thank you for revealing those things to me." Lin said to him with a grateful tone.
"It was nothing. I don't like the guy very much so it's a welcome thing if he becomes more irritated because of my actions." Wen said to her with a nod.
"Okay. Well, have a good night. I won't disturb you further." Lin said before she cut the call.
'Hmm, she must've been nervous.' Wen thought to himself as he looked at the screen.
He then turned his attention to the laptop and looked at the news as he saw a lot of them. There were also news about the decreasing crime rate and how the police have been able to rout out the corrupt ones from their ranks and how they are able to find more of the criminals.
Wen smiled as he watched the news as he is glad that the criminals have been apprehended. Not that they could actually do anything considering the fact that he is the one who is helping the police force to deal with them.
He knows that it will be difficult for the police to locate the corrupt ones and the good police officers are not able to do anything without any kind of proof. But now with his help they have uncovered the needed evidence to put the lot of them behind bars for all their lives.
Many of these criminals are despicable ones who don't care much about the lives of others. It includes drug lords, pimps, politicians, high ranking police officer and kingpins. He is not going to just stand around and watch them take advantage of good people when he has the power to actually make a difference and help others.
And since he is able to help them he found no reason not to and so he used his powers to give the police the needed evidence and acted behind the scenes to turn things in their favour. Ultimately they will think that they managed to get it out of luck and that will also be what the criminals would also be thinking.
Having done all of that he has decided that he would direct his attention to the rest of the world as it has also been overrun by people like them who care more about themselves than others. He wouldn't mind if they care about themselves at a moderate rate, but if they completely disregard the lives of all of the people who live on this world then he will surely go after them.
He then went out of his apartment to get some food from a restaurant as he entered a high class one. He saw many people in the restaurant eating and he could see many families of the higher class chatting and eating, none of them have paid him any attention and are engrossed in their own little worlds.
He sat at a seat and ordered for food and then waited for it to be brought to him. Then he opened his eyes and looked to his front as he saw Mingyun walking towards him as she is on her phone. She hasn't noticed him due to talking on her phone but she has managed to gather the attention of the other people in the hotel.
But inevitably her eyes laid on him as her eyes widened when she saw him as she stopped walking. This reaction of hers was also seen by the other people as they were confused about her behaviour. But it was only for a few seconds before she smiled and walked towards his table and stood in front of him.
"Yeah, I'm sorry but I will have to call you back. Its a bit important." Mingyun said as she cut the call and looked at him.
"It's good to see you miss Wang." Wen greeted her with a smile.
"It's nice to see you too brother Wen, but please, call me Mingyun, I feel more comfortable." Mingyun said to him with a smile.
"Sure miss Mingyun, do you want to take a seat?" Wen asked her with a smile.
"Yes of course. This is a good hotel." Mingyun said delighted as she sat on the seat.
The people who saw this exchange were wide eyed as they looked at the two. However they were more interested in Wen as they have no idea who he is and many of them narrowed their eyes at how close they seemed to be. Many of them had plans for marrying their sons with Mingyun so that they could elevate their status but now the arrival of someone unknown to them has brought disruption to their plans.
"So, how did the clinic go?" Mingyun asked him after she gave her order.
"It went fine actually. We had 40 customers today and I think the results will show after a few weeks." Wen said to her with a smile.
"That's great news. Considering your expertise I'm sure that you will become one of the most renowned doctors in our city." Mingyun said to him with a smile
"Thanks for your support. I was able to open my own clinic so quickly in the city thanks to brother Jing's support. Otherwise it would've taken a long time for me to open one." Wen said to her with a smile.
"Well my cousin is amazing, he isn't the mayor of Nantong for nothing." Mingyun said with a tone of pride.
"That is true. It looks like things are looking pretty good for us, don't you agree?" Wen asked her with a smile.
"Indeed. My uncle is now recovering, my nephew's are also recovering due to you removing those antiques from our home and now brother Jing and uncle can work more easily. Meeting brother Wen has truly been a blessing to our family." Mingyun said to him with a smile.
"Glad to hear it." Wen said before he noticed the waitress bringing the food.
Wen gestured towards the waitress as Mingyun looked at her and smiled when she saw that their food is ready as she and Wen got ready to eat.
'Heh, they must've brought ours first because Mingyun is here. The convenience of high status.' Wen thought to himself in humour as he watched them bring the food.
