Hermit’s Note: My take on the kingdom building genre, which often suffers from weak characters, low stakes and contrived challenges. Buildup will be slow, with Book 1 focused on business managment, Book 2 focused on a battle for succession and only Book 3 getting into the depths of kingdom building. There’s plenty of inventions before that point though, so if you’re here for the clever use of modern tech you’ll find quite a bit to like even early on.

It's way better than the vast majority of novel on this website that's for sure. I have nothing but praise for this novel. Most Kingdom building novel are simply retarded so it's nice to read something that both make sense and is enjoyable.
One of the best novel you'll ever find in this site, so I suggest you to try and read it. I'm sure you'll be captured by the journey of Corco. The novel is centered on kingdom building, so if you like the genere you can't, I mean it, miss it.
It's incredible, and forgive the oxymoron but it has credible world-building and characters that aren't fucking retarded without a logical explanation, the names are a bit weird, but once you think about the fact that it's a different world it makes sense, and, a god-send of most stories, it has a map! 10/10, the only grammatical error I've seen so far is accidentally saying teh instead of the in like chapter 60
This novel is the best kingdom building novel on this site. It doesn't delve into useless filler nor change perspectives like a mad man. It's follows our young trans migrator as he navigates this world with his modern knowledge. You'll enjoy how he uses his wits to survive encounters and theres enough of action that it isnt just talking. Five stars all the way.
Wow, this ist an incredible story! What I like the Most is, that the characters actually act like People would. My only critizism is, that it took me far too long to find this gem. Author, add some tags!
This novel is one of the best novels on this site. It follows a story of someone with modern knowledge thrust into a foreign world where he uses his wits to survive. The novel contains much political intrigue as it's rationale with the MC being unable to strongarm his way through most situations(politics look down on that sort of thing).
I've found this novel when searched for kingdom building novels. I'm writing this review (actually my first review here) because this frustrating "has not enough reviews" is unfair to this well written novel and I believe can deal harm and demotivate author. Unfortunately there is not so much of kingdom building currently (as of chapter 40), first book is focused more on introduction of characters, merchant stuff and brandy (you know the deal, as usual divine knowledge from the other world makes genius prince somewhat richer, in this case knowledge is about brandy but not only about it, though). Second book focuses on political stuff and... brandy. So far author delivered everything promised in synopsis and that is good. Surely there are some not very polished plot twists, background setting and story development, personally I find it unbelievable that there are no navigation instruments yet when there are lengthy sea travels and guns in the world. But whatever, it is fantasy world after all. First book covers about five years of main character life, but I didn't feel that story is rushed. Considering all things together there are no THAT BIG and obvious plot holes, character decisions seems logical and rational, fitting setting. There are different religions in this novel and they seem to affect politics. No much focus on cultivation as in the most Chinese novels with levels, qi and stuff. No gaming elements. Magic is not mentioned explicitly, however there is some kind of mysterious stuff I guess. Battle scenes are reasonably detailed, characters are powerful but not completely overpowered. No questionable romance, no harem, no all this crap, at least yet. No misogyny, though. As far as I remember there were no any female characters until last couple of chapters. BTW, chapters itself are lengthy enough. Overall this is one of the most interesting novels I've read on this site up to date. If you enjoy Release That Witch, Kingdom's Bloodline or Rise of the Lord, then you're likely to enjoy this novel as well, though this novel is different from the mentioned once.

One of the best kingdom building novels on the platform. Many interesting characters. Lots of intrigue. Well executed war arcs. Great economic stuff. Bonus points for not using systems, Golden fingers, obvious plot armor, and other overused things. Nice to see an MC have to work and plan for things. Hoping to see more chapters in the future once author has time to resume.
One of the best hidden gems in this site. The story is great, the pacing is just about right, characters (mc and minor chars) are relatable, villains are amazing, world is alive and colorful, in short, highly recommend this novel to anyone whose looking for something unique to read. Now for the long part, the following are more of an observation than a review so spoilers ahead: - In terms of characters you won't find an OP mc here who appears just to slap every villain dead and win all time. - The mc is an intelligent type who uses plans and strategies to defeat his enemies but he does not always win so you root for him to learn and win the next time. - I also like how the minor characters in this story are alive and are given their own opportunity to shine. They are not just background props like in other novels where you forgot there are other characters around the mc because the author spent a chapter concentrated on the mc. - people in the story's world have their own peculiarities and culture which helps in the world building. Oh, and there are also maps released by the author. - speaking of villains, these are not your typical cliche villains, they're actually intelligent and powerful in their own right. MC has to actually used his all manipulate and outwit his first villain. And i think the author is grooming this villain to be the mc's nemesis. I hope i'm right.

I have read half of story on royale road.. honest review:- author is a sadestic person who likes to create problems for mc.. and yeah mc suffers failure after failure... and there is not good kingdom building here .. this novel is all about politics... and thats too dirty politics.. mc made plan some greedy marchent or cruel nobals create problems for him and mc plan failed... after 100 failure mc would get minor sucess and than there would be series of failure for mc.. there is technology development but thats it .. its very short and rest is all about how all the rich people, greedy marchent and curropt nobels creating problems for him ... This is extreame sadestic novel where mc just suffer.. and yeah author said that this novel is realastic but I donn't know its what made this novel boring... I expected kingdom building where good part is people pov about how life become better and what new thing happens.. but all we get is dirty and boring politics and this is repetitive.... Shame on kingdom building..

Opens with the BEST use of lye ever in a novel... Volume 1 is good (really good by webnovel standards), but it's in Volume 2 where the author's progression and story shows maturity and strong growth... it's a that point and beyond that this work shows a true publishing house quality. Come back!!!! Best book on webnovel! I’m so upset it got dropped :(((. The chapter lengths were perfect, characters felt like real people and not a collection of tropes. The world felt both familiar and diffrent. PLEASE COME BACK!

Best empire building story I have read as of yet. Character development is also really good. Initially lacked any female.roles except when they served a functionality but the writer introduces some halfway the story.

One of the best stories in the site, excellent, clear and real development of the support characters, the MC and the world building, everybody need to read this web novel!!
Reasons why you should read this: 1) A story where the characters develop with time 2) well written hardly any mistakes. So it is fluently read without headache. 3) A story with several story arch that obviously is developed to some degree before written 4)an author that takes his time to redo stuff when he thinks it’s not good enough 5) An MC that isn‘t op but simply too knowledgeable for his time 6) Interesting not overdrawn characters that do not pout and cry anime style 7) great story 8) if you like this you should read it and leave some stones for the author!
